thanks, i wanted to buy the factory team kit, but didnt have enough money nor the experience i think, so ill first tstart with this one, see how it handles then move up and convert it to a ft, or sell it and buy a ft, thanks for your opinion! the bad part about it is that i have to wait for it since i just got it from a guy around here, ill get it till saturday probably :(

honestly man just tear the vehicle down when you get it, give it a rebuild, and your set. You will have knowledge then on how it goes together, and fix anything the previous owner had issues with.

As for moving up to a factory team, I personally would just run it as is with various settings you find work at your track. Speak with people at your track to find what tires work and what doesn't.

My favorite mod I am liking on the car personally is going to quick change wheels all around. Very easy to change the tires, and I can now use the rears on the fronts, and vice versa. Excellent if your track likes treaded tires up front.

thanks for making me feel more secure! i had a hard time trying to see which truck to get, it was between a hpi firestorm flux rtr, a duratrax evader brushless, and other stadium trucks but i wanted a t4.1 since the beginning, i think i know a lil bit on how to build cars ive had a traxxas slash 4x4, and a redcat aftershock 8e. but i wanted something that i can race!

Gr8 choice! You have the perfect platform to upgrade as your skills advance. IMO the hpi and the duratrax aren't really made for racers.

for those running aluminum servo horns with your alloy steering rack setup, what brand of horns are you using that don't have any clearance issues? thinking of picking up some to try.

I have the same one. With 3 bolts and lock tight I can not keep it on longer then 1 week. Keeps coming off.

I am removing it tonight to go to the stock plastic horn :(

I was thinking about getting this setup myself. If you could post your experience with it, I'd appreciate it. I'm thinking the 4600 should be more than enough for my needs and I have a couple of 3s packs that I could run it on.

Thanks
Kevin

used a 4600kv before on another brand 2wd truck. Whole lot of power on 2S.

Unless the track needs that large of a motor. It's pointless.

our Stadium truck class is open. Most run 7.5 or 8.5, Some 10.5 motors
I run a little 13.5T with timing/boost and have no problem keeping up with them or passing them.

Bigger isn't always better. It's just fun :)

of course

sure add me as a friend, and as soon as soon as i get the truck and the motor ill upload a quick video and race it, ive seen people run 19/86 thats probably what ill do, my local track doesnt have many curves, but is really short, but as soon as i go to ensenada, baja california (theres a nice track) ill do another video..and yes i have a 2s 40c pack which i think is more than enogh for the t4.1, 3s is just overkill..

Then you must have a NOODLE Arm Brent!!! First tighten the Screw and then Tighten the 2 little pinch bolts!!! I only run these arms in everything including ALL of my 1/8 Nitro and have NEVER had an issue!!!:nod::nod:

hey fellas
the time has come and i have the itch after watching a few local guys run the TLR 22t's and the T4.1's at the local rc track and im finally getting a kit
i have an RC8B Factory Team kit that i run in 1/8 scale nitro and a 4x4 sct but i love how smooth the stadium trucks were running

main question i have is:
should i get another brushless system or should i just swap the mamba max pro 1410 3900 kv out of my sct and put it in the kit im about to build?

i know race legal is 13.5 or 17.5 (correct me if im wrong, im new to electic)

edit: i will be running on 2s lipo's as well

Cain 05-16-2012 11:52 AM

what do you they run as motor rules in the class you plan to race it in?
