Quick update for anyone interested in the rcrd chassis. It's been a while since I've run my T4.1, but raced this past weekend. It's setup with the rcrd +4 chassis which I don't like at all with a full size pack. I have my new batteries (2250mAh 3s) which I can move around to get the balance I want, and have everything laid out inline. I can tell you that it is as close to a perfect setup (for me) as I can get. It's as light and nimble as the plastic, more durable, and I can still make a 10min main. I am quite happy and would not steer anyone away from this chassis if you don't mind running a smaller pack. Here is a pic of the current setup.

I know it goes a few pages back, but here is where my probe is located for the motor, and the speedo one is just in front of the motor wire posts on the speed.

Black Grease Substitute ??

Is there a substitute for AE Black Grease, I use it on the Thrust balls on one truck and in the gear diff on another. Hate placing an order for one item, no LHS's in my area.
Thanks

Any high performance bicycle bearing grease will be fine. If its lithium based even better. basically crank case grease or headset grease. I got a tube from Specialized and its lasted over a year.

You got a great truck!! Talk to the fast guys at your track for setup and tire selection. I've broken more caster blocks than anything else. This is a result of a solid steering assembly and an aluminum servo horn. Switching over to RPM rod ends is a popular upgrade. The Avid steering bellcrank has been a hot item too. A while back hex conversions were big and Avid makes the best hexes around for this too.

IMO you should have gone the kit route for many reasons mainly familiarizing yourself with the inner outer working of the car and learning how to fix it! It's very easy to build. The hardest part is building the thrust bearing and that's easy! You will want to upgrade your electronicts, car and radio costing more in the long run.
But you made a great choice:) stadium trucks are a blast to drive and the t4 is king

You will love the truck weather you race it or not. I started a group of Seniors (we are all 60 and up ) and we have a BALL !! I bought the first truck and before you know it we have 8 Seniors in our Group. We race at a park on grass.......try grass if you think it is easy .....also try it SITTING DOWN !THREE times a week 1 1/2-2 hours. We are all like KIDS again !!! We some are pure stock some are modified but we have FUN and we ALL win races.
Enjoy you t4.1 !!

thanks for making me feel more secure! i had a hard time trying to see which truck to get, it was between a hpi firestorm flux rtr, a duratrax evader brushless, and other stadium trucks but i wanted a t4.1 since the beginning, i think i know a lil bit on how to build cars ive had a traxxas slash 4x4, and a redcat aftershock 8e. but i wanted something that i can race!

I love mine, but sadly will be getting rid of it in the near future the and the Durango ST when it's released. The reason why is that the Durango is more adjustable then the Associated, and im what they guys at the track call a tinkerer, I like to tinker alot with my setups to get it just perfect. With the T4.1 all I had to do was put Cav's setup on it and i'm 100% there. A testement to the coinsistency of the truck and ease of use, but I dont get to tinker all that much with it. But hey at least it's not a Losi.
