Not quite sure what you mean by a shaved U brace, but next time you see me at WCRC come and say hi. My t4 currently has a red body with flames.

Awesome - thanks. First big change will be tires. I threw it on the track with ribbed front and some sort of stock pins in the rear and they strangely worked "OK" though it was clear to me that with the right tire choice I should have much better rear traction.

Suburbs, bar codes,... SO many choices. Mount up a mess of rears and try them.As traction changes,so will your choices of tires will be. Some rears will dictate a slipper change,as well. Traction is going fast. PERIOD. Tires is 70% of the go-fast formula.
I have seen one -run rear tires in the garbage can, mounted. They didn't work, that time, that day.
Clay changes during the day.Dust build up and the way the surface dries out.
Freshly swept? Gooey? Watch for wheelies!
Power to the dirt? YEP!
Wheel spin? No fun.
I have smelled Paragon tire stuff in an indoor DIRT track many times.WD-40 works OK,too. Overnight in a baggie makes 'em super squishy and the clay will not stick to the tires.
It's a game to see what works.
We all hope to find the blue groove, then it's just like running on hi-bite asphalt or carpet. Then the tires make noise.
Have fun and go fast.
I used to race, now I just bash. EYE LOVE R/C!

Tire question guys, I have some panther switches on proline closed cell inserts and they are on rear rims. I just cleaned them and it seems as if one insert is way more broken down than the other and shat is funny is that's the weaker insert is the non sweeper side and we have a huge sweeper at my track. Y is this, can ya tell me?

I've got velvets on my T4 and love them. Looks like you have owned Kyosho products so you know how good their shocks are. They aren't quite the same size as V2's but without modifying them they have worked great.

If you think about it, the outer tire is pinned to the dirt which pins the foam to the tire and the inner tire is spiinning or unloaded and squirms a little allowing the tire to seperat from the foam and causing it not to wear as much.

Its the way the tires ride in the sweeper. I hve had this simmilar issue in 1/8 scale as the majority of the high speed corners are right at one track. I had to keep track of how many times I used each tire not only front and rear, but also left and right.
