Looking forward to see what comes of the 5300 packs. Do you have an esstimated date for those to be available? and will they be ROAR legal?

Working on drawing something up as I'm typing this....

I'm also stoked... with a grin ear to ear after making the switch to your short packs. Each one seen atleast 5 cycles last night during practice, and didn't miss a beat. Running 25c packs in the past really hurt the consistency of my 1/10th buggy (boosted 10.5), and these packs really made a difference. I couldn't imagine trying to run the old packs in a 1/10th scale truck with a 7.5!

Thanks!

not likely, cost prohibitive at the moment.

It actually makes sense. I run a smaller motor 9.5-10.5 and use a higher C rating to get the punch. I feel it's more drivable for me. I had a 7.5 but I was inconsistent, because of the raw power. I guess it's more linear? You don't need the punch if you have a low wind motor.

With Jon's shorties, this past weekend I ran a boosted 10.5 Tekin, with an RS esc. 25* boost, set to kick in at about 900 to 30k rpm, with the current limiter around 65-70% on high bite indoor in 2wd buggy. I'd rather have the C and not use it, than not have it and need it!!!

I'm not sure either. I use the HV 6000 60c packs with my boosted 4.0t touring car, and I use 3,500-4,000 mAh in a 5 minute heat! So I really wouldn't want to run a lesser battery.

One is they're using the different weights as a tuning option. Reedy weights IIRC are 200g for their shorty, 260g for the wolf pack and 300g ish for their full size pack. Along with the weight the lower punch packs smooth out the power curve, differently than doing it with esc or radio settings. If was one of the Ryan's I would be able to explain it better and actually notice a difference between using esc settings and a lower C pack but I'm not. Rarely in off road do we use all the power we have in Mod. so running a "softer" pack isn't really going to be a speed issue. That's my $02 anyway.

I'll be looking at one of Jon's lower C packs simply for the weight option. Most can't or won't invest in the cost of batteries as a tuning option but it's there. As our track dries out (over a few weeks not one day) it moves from a shorty to a full pack being better. A middle weight pack will fill the gap between the two, for me at least.

We had our month big race was running a serpent 811e qualified third for the amain. We had two qualifiers my HV lipos worked perfect stayed strong no dumping with awesome punch people were asking about the lipos. During the amain first lap first corner I got T boned "love it" from that point my race was done was a fun day without any gear issues.

Hey guys, good and bad new. Bad news, lost my funds for traveling to NCT's and various tracks around washington this year. As the saying goes when one door closes another opens. The Good News, The Skagit River Raceway's Off Road track was missing a director and in danger of not running this year. I have stepped up and have taken up the position. Although I won't be racing abroad I invite you guys if your in the area to stop by and race with us here in Burlington.
