for the 7.5 it feels best to me in the truck at 87/22 but the temps get up in the 150-range, and my batteries seem to get pretty warm after the race, at 87/20 the motor runs a cool 130-ish, and the batteries are much cooler, but the speed control goes up 15-deg (no biggie, still only 115) doesn't loose much top end, and gains gobs of torque.
think im going to end up running a 6.5 in the truck tho....thinking 87/18 with the 6.5 in the truck, and prob like 81/22 in the buggy for the 7.5.
drove this kids gt2 tonight (guessing he just wanted me to set it up, so i got to race it all night, did get it down, and he loves the setup) and set Tq, i think i like GT, hah....definitely has me thinking about the 6.5 in the truck...hah

I've been running my 7.5 with a 20 on it also. I like a 19 but the 20 was better laptimes.
The 6.5 is the most gas truck-ish feeling motor I've ran. I liked it but went with the slower motor for ease of driving. Probably switch to the 6.5 again b/c I miss the feel of it.

I believe I ran a 20 most the time. It was crazy fast top end but it made takeoff easier. I often limited the throttle epa b/c full trigger was rarely needed where I raced most.
But like you were saying I played anywhere from 18-20. I like a 19 on the 7.5 but it needed more top end to keep up. I run older 3800 batt's so my gearing might be a little off from what others are liking.
I believe my the motor stayed cooler when I ran the 6.5 compared to the 7.5
Probably becuase I didn't need to drive around full punched everywhere. Neither my 6.5 or 7.5 has the sintered rotor either.

.5 degree rear hub carriers
Does anyone know what effect running the optional .5 degree rear hub carriers has on the B4 - does it increase traction, cornering, etc.
(This may have been discussed before, so apologies if it has)

If you're talking about the LRP 6.5 turn, I run it 16-87 in truck with the std rotor. In the B4 I use 7.5 with 20-84.
Once you go up to a sintered rotor you gain a lot of torque and you can get up closer to 19-87 in truck with a 6.5. For the 7.5 sintered in buggy I would run 24-81.
I don't know much about the Novak stuff on how to gear it....
