I might try a few changes, maybe people have done this before. If so, let me know.
I started off Matts sheet from the showdown.
These are some thoughts in changes i have.
Was running the longer ackerman, might try the short.
Want to try 45wt oil in the front, 50wt seems too stiff...or maybe just switch to a softer spring in the front?
Running 5-5-3 right now, thinking of changing the middle to 7k. Anyone else have gone to this?
Let me know what you guys think.

I would start with one of Matt Olson's setups posted on the MIP site. He has one for an outdoor track and one for an indoor track.

You also check out my build over on RCSC, scroll to the last few pages to see the MIP updates.

i have 5-7-3 now. The chassis is coming today so I will be doing the change over soon I guess I will start with matts setup and work from there. I don't have the tlr plates but they will be in the works.
Thanks

Mip Matt just emailed back and said to send in the mip 17 mm hex adapters for my slash 4x4 and they would modify them to fit the newly designed axles! So I'll be sending mine in and swapping the other 3 older axles out for the new ones! Great customer service...

Curious about something guys. I have the RPM bumper and a DE rear skid plate on my SCTE. Thinking I should measure my ride height from the botto
of my bumper/skid plate?
Basically, measuring it from the lowest point of the front and rear of the chassis.
Also. Since my changes pretty much matched the stock setup, I went ahead and changed it fully to that setup. 45wt/45wt oils. Only thing I haven't done is change the center diff fluid to 7k. Going to give it a try this way. Try to get a little more off power/low power steering.

I got to see Matt rock the field at the JConcepts Summer Indoor Nats. Pretty awesome! Looks like MIP has a great SC.

Seems like all the bypass1 setups on the MIP website from the team drivers are for nicely groomed indoor/outdoor tracks, definitely not the ones I'm racing on. I need to see some setups for rough loose tracks.
In his velocity rc interview video, Eustace tasks about how compression bypass will probably be run on rough tracks (this is valves on the bottom).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlruG...e_gdata_player
The reference is at about 11:20 in the video, however you may want to tune in a bit earlier for reference.
So now to my question, is any one running the bypass1 in compression (valves on the bottom) on an scte and have a setup that works on rough track?

I would recommend adjust dampening with with springs and oil and adjust rebound with valves.

Raced today with my MIP and i have it fully dialed atm. Perfect for my local track.
Im using the stock setup with a few changes.
Using B in the rear camber link and the hubs are fully back. I also run only 1 degree of toe out in the front. I'm running 553 right now but might go 7 in the center.
Truck felt GREAT. No reason to change a thing unless the surface changes.
Took 1st in my qual before the rain started =) Had one of the fastest lap times ive had on this track.

Ran my mip conversion last night for the first time. It definitely makes the truck feel different with so much weight to the rear, almost like an scte/rc10 hybrid. High bite outdoor track, semi rough. Started with the Olson setup but lacked on and off power steering. Changed to 3 degrees rear toe and it felt a lot better. Seemed like it was diffing out to the front a little on short approach jumps. Will go to 7,10,3 diff oils next time out. Truck was planted and easy to drive. It's going to take a while to get used to the front feeling so light.
Qualified 4th out of 11 in the expert class, was able to check out and take the win by 10 seconds.
Truck didn't feel as fast as with the bce chassis but lap times don't lie and was more stable. There is a bumpy sweeper that my bce chassis would get out of shape and the mip railed thru. Was able to make up a lot of time there.
