I rebuilt the Differential and Transmission, also replaced the axles with the 4x4 axles, replaced all the bearings and gears and the slash runs like a dream now!

I have the 4 pole and no issues power and many racers all are using the VXL with great success. If anything it has a little less punch off the line but much more top end. It's all in the gearing. I also have the slipper set at about 3/4 turn out.

Glad it's working for you. When I went from brushed to Velineon on the Sleeper Slash, it became a handful. Only reason I went that route was to keep it looking totally stock. I wonder how much heat would be generated running the SC10 slipper that loose? I generally set my slippers so that if you mash the throttle while holding both rear tires, the front suspension goes to full droop without lifting the tires off the ground. I guess I could spring for a pair of Garodiscs like we run on our race trucks. Heat shouldn't affect those much.

I just race mine Stock. We are allowed RPM parts some aluminum upgrades
and Kumos. Although I'm not running Kumos until I wear out my originals.
Stock Slash is my main oval class now and I race it will my B6D latemodel.

Didn't know you could wear out the stock slash tires!

At my local track you can't run in the stock slash class with a LCG. You have to run modified to use LCG, at which point you're racing against more than just slashes.

I've been running 30WT and 2-hole pistons but last race I seemed to have more traction than usual and almost traction rolled so I;m going to up it to 40Wt this weekend.

Hey guys what is a good aftermarket shock for racing? We have to run our LCG in a modified class. Trying to make it competitive, I know it always going to be a slash. But I like the parts support and it's just fun to drive.

I've never used aftermarket shocks. My HCG Sleeper Slash uses stock Ultra shocks fitted with RPM 2-stage pistons (green front and orange rear) and Losi XXX springs, greens in front, blues in back (painted white for stealth factor), 40W all around. We have a Chuckworks Super B with STRC shock bodies and caps, Traxxas TiNi shafts, RPM pistons and Losi springs. Our mid motor Chuckworks A6 uses Associated SC5M shocks from an eBay chop shop with VRP pistons. All 3 work very well. You are running offroad, not oval, correct?

For those w/CF or aluminum shock towers, how are you liking them? Which are the best? Is anyone running mod 1 gearing? (or) Will 32p be enough for 4s? Does anyone use the Hot Racing TE48X01 bellcrank?
