After finally getting a solid set up down. Got 2 ok runs in at quals for ROAR Nationals. Rd#2 was my best, till the 1min 30 mark then my Hole Shot M4's went away. If that would have happened wouldve had great qual points. But that slip slide away. 2 more rounds tommorow then mains Sunday. Stacked driver list. I still got a lot to learn.

If any of you are interested in a set of these or a set of shims made to use under the MIP 41t spur gear, let me know (PM). I have improved a few things as a make more, I will post a new pic when I get them finished and mounted.
How do they attach to the chassis?

They attach w/ 3m double sided tape. I ran the modified version today. They were very nice. They also helped when I took a tumble, like they sprung me back over.

I will switch back to stock Traxxas as I need to be able to finish a race.
I haven't seen a post on here and MIP Customer Service hasn't answered since I told them I had standard CVDs since I didn't know there was a "heavy duty" type for Slash.

I have removed the MIPs from my Slash and put back on the stock Traxxas shafts; at least they don't come apart constantly as the MIPs did. Sorry to say that I have never had such an experience with MIP in the past but will not use them anymore.

I received a beat up MIP Chassis the other day from a seller here on the site. It has been stripped and going through a makeover. I hope to post some pictures tomorrow of it after I get it clear coated. I am really happy with the way it came out.

Here are the pictures of the MIP Chassis that I have been working on the past few days. I still have several more things to get done today but hope to run it at the track tomorrow. I will post pictures of what it looked like when I received it on Monday in a few minutes.

I still need to cut my race # into the pad for the battery tray. It should look good with the yellow shinning through.

Hello all. After 20+ years out of the hobby (I think the last car purchase I made was an original Tamiya Clod Buster), I've gotten back in. I picked up a Brushed 2WD Slash and have really been enjoying it, especially the not having to build it part! I was finally able to get over to the local public park which has an R/C track (Fort Knox park in the Bronx) and ran it around for the first time with real jumps, mud, dirt...lots of fun.

However, as the battery pack was dying (the 3000mah NiMH it came with), the car sounded like the pinion gear was slipping. I didn't notice it at all until the very end when the battery was really dying. I took the car home, opened it up, and the pinion/spur are fine. I never made any adjustments to the slipper clutch (I wouldn't even know what to do at this point), so it mechanically seems ok. When I plugged in a new battery at home and gave the car some throttle (while holding it in my hand, not while on the ground), there wasn't any noise at all and everything seemed ok.

I suppose my question is, did the slipper clutch simply overheat from my laps at the track and start slipping more than it normally would? I was going through puddles as well if that has anything to do with it.

Any advice/comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well not a single failure since I removed the MIP CVDs and went back to Traxxas stock plastic parts. Still no answer from MIP so I guess it is buyer beware; however I will no longer be a buyer of MIP CVDs. I paid enough for these that I should not need "heavy duty" units, which I did not know even existed. Not a very pleasant experience.

Ya that seams kinda weird that you havnt received a reply back to any of your questions or comments. Ive noticed you made several post re-guarding your issue. Sure there is some reason, just didnt notice or havnt been around? I actually asked about dying the capture rings on the cvd's and didnt get an answer. My question wasnt that important but some kinda answer would've been cool. Oh well. Bol nutz.

Has any one else had a problem wirh the bottom shock cup that the spring sits in coming off? I have been using hole 5 up top and middle hole on bottom a arm to mount my shocks and setting height at 25mm. And several races in a row , that cup slides down after so many laps. I installed new cups and shock shaft ends last week but had same problem?
