Is there an eBuggy 2.1 coming out ? I still have my 1.0, and thinking of later on converting it to an onroad GT car, then waiting for the 2.1 eBuggy...

Big question is 'when' I guess......personally, I'd sit on it until we hear something |

I've been running Chicky's setup as well, but changed to Joe's piston/oil setup from the Mugen Challenge for a bit more pack. We have some pretty big air jumps and my car was getting un settled on landings. Now I love the way it drives everywhere. The sway bar play adjustment is especially clever. :D

The buggy I use them and Joe does not. The alu 600497 are the same as the stock steering blocks but have a little more throw. The 600611 are 0 deg steering blocks and we use them on truggy. They just seem to work better on truggy than the stock ones.
The higher spindle takes away a little steering. Let us know how the setup works out. it has a lot more rear traction I think. Need to get a new servo coming, but should be good for AMS next weekend. ETruggy was great until I stole the electronics out of it to make the ebuggy work. Jumps and flies wonderful, turns in quickly, yet back end is controllable and can slide it or lock it in at will. Very excited for the big race in 2 weeks. |
do you have the new setup parts in the e truggy chick like it had one the website

Orcadigital- sorry I missed your question! The last two weeks I've been on RCtech holiday for the most part- some racing buddies had me build 4 (yes, 4!) Complete Cobra Ebuggies. They came and got them on Saturday, loved the cars, and one of them put it in the A Main at our local tracks trophy race this past weekend. It was awesome!
The piston/oil setup we were using, as copied from Joe's Mugen challenge setup, was 8x1.1 front with 37.5 and 6x1.1 rear with 27.5- both with taper facing up. I still have that in my car, and if the track is smooth it works very well. In Cush's car however, he swapped to 4x1.1/4x1.3 front with 45 and 6x1.3 rear with 35- both with taper down. We use Losi oils.. He did that last weekend on a much rougher track and it kept the car more stable in the rough, but still jumps nice on big air/flat landings. Now that I'm done with building cars for a bit I plan to make the same change on my own car. :D |

The current setup feels great, but the jumping is not quite there as I said. I have been told AMS is a smooth track, but I assume also with the number of people it will get bumpy and rutted also. I did still have in the webbed bladders which (reading an old Chicky post) is probably a bad thing for bumpy tracks. I will swap to the regular bladders, and build a second set of shocks to Cush's setup above and see what works best. New servo arrived (fried my old KO about a week ago) so can swap back radio trays with the truggy and get everything back together. Anyone else from the 811 family going to AMS this coming week? If so, feel free to stop on by, dirty white 6x12 trailer, distinguishable only in that it is being towed by a Porsche Cayenne. We'll have 2 of the 811T-e etruggies, myself with the 811be, and my friend with his MP9 (still working on fixing that hehe). I am happy to help in any way I can. Grant |
Is the actual E-truggy kit still a week or so out?

I'm selling mine as well, planning to buy a srx2 and the e-truggy once it's released. Wish they had a trade in program lol.

seems like that not many people are running the avenger body,,,why is that
|
Most of the locals here are running the cab forward body, and that's a pretty decent amount as Serpent is by far the most popular Ebuggy around here. I haven't used it yet as our bodies are out for paint now, but the consensus seems to be that it gives a lot more low speed steering and a more aggressive feel overall. Looking forward to trying it vs the stock body.
|
Most of us around my area feel the Avenger body makes the car too loose. The lack of upsweep in the rear of the body, compared to the stock one, takes away a bit too much rear traction.
