Motor selection help

I was looking at picking up a Serpent 811 Be. However, I am struggling with motor selections. I see options for 1400 - 2650kv all listed as buggy applications (Tekin RX8Gen2/Redline T8 Gen2). I will run 2x2S lipos. My track would most likely be characterized as a large 1/10 scale track. Not as big some 1/8 tracks that I have seen. Also, please do opine on pinions as well. Thanks for your help.

+1. the 1900 range seems about perfect:nod:

I would also add that the track is outdoor and quite loose.

I'm using a 2050 but i used epA when the track gets loose.

Thanks for the motor input. I am super excited as I pulled the trigger and picked up the 811 2.0 today. I don't know the rules for promoting retailers but a certain shop in Chico had them on sale today and I got an additional 10% off so I was pretty stoked. Now to figure out how my wife can give it to me as a birthday present (in November).

Only one left too, wish I could use the 2000+ points I have today but I have to wait for them to be good.

I have a hobbywing speed control and thunderpower 1950 I'm not going to be using for a while since I don't have a car at the moment. Will be getting a new one later this year though. $200

Hi Guys. I just joined the Serpent family after a stint with HB and then Kyosho. My car is second hand and in just about perfect shape. I have one issue....the rx box cover was missing and there is a makeshift lexan cover in place. My r603fs rx will not fit as is. I have looked online to see if I can buy just the cover/lid but it appears I can only get the full radio box/lipo tray kit for over $50. Is there anything else I can do? The little bit of extra clearance that the OEM cover provides is necessary.

As tight as the body fits it really allows very little dirt in. I'd bust out the dremel, cut away the side of the receiver box and just mount it up top with servo tape. Cheap free alternative my friend :batman:

I'm currently building a super light serpent and its in my list of area that are going to be ahhhhhh addressed :sneaky:

The new radio tray upgrade that is coming out does away with an enclosed receiver box anyway.

That's where I got the idea :D

Thanks! Awesome idea. My DEX408 had the rx exposed as well. Never had an issue. Is the stock spur a 46? I am ordering the serpent plastic spur for it.....and a Manual as mine did not come with one. Lol
