Better yet, get rid of the bullet connectors and solder the wires directly to the motor. Bullet connectors are just asking for problems on an e-scale. They are high resistance, vibration suseptable weak links in your electronics. I don't even like lipos with plug in bullet connectors for e-scale. Its just begging for a failure or intermittent operation. Stick with direct soldering everything you can, and use Deans or Traxxas connectors for your batteries. Lessons learned the hard way by the pioneers of the class, when the electronics and batteries weren't so good, and any weak links lead to bigger problems. :)

I would disagree with you on the Deans for batteries. I've had too many failures with Deans not to mention too many times having felt the connector dangerously hot. I've been using the thick Tekin bullet connectors insulated on the outside of the female plug for batteries and haven't had that fail ever since.

+1 Rather go for bullet connectors or EC5

Deans do get hot and I have only had a deans fail 1x where it came loose but I was bouncing an E truggy around pretty hard

I use Dean's for all my electrics. Haven't had one fail yet.

They can fail and I've seen em hot many times. They aren't rated for the amperage 1/8 buggies and especially truggies can draw. I personally use EC5's without any issues for almost 2 yrs in my scales. They will never come apart on their own, hell they're tough to pull apart and they're rated plenty high. Most Deans failures I've seen are them coming unplugged during a race.

It's $10 less than the nitro version. Throw in the discount codes and I don't see why anyone would complain.

What's the code?

I always strap down all my wires/connectors so nothing flops around. Guess I've been lucky. :)

I can see it on 4S (using a higher amp connector), but these are 2S batteries. I've had a fine record with Deans on 2S.

Anyone know the cost to convert from nitro to s811e setup?

This buggy looks sweet! I can't believe they are going to beat team Durango to market!

It makes you laugh when you think about how much of Durango's sales will be taken by this buggy. I think TD made a bad decision releasing info of the Dex408 so early, I think that sparked Serpent's interest in releasing the 811- be. We all have been waiting for a quality version of this layout and Serpent is ahead of the game.:sneaky::ha:

serpent was the originator to that buggy's design too. Anyone know what the exact Be's battery case dimensions will be?

jasonwipf 07-24-2011 10:36 PM

Well I self answered a few questions. It appears as if the length is 139mm so i can hold a pack 138mm or less. and the width is 48 so 47mm or less pack will work but I have no idea about the height. the height will be pretty important since it seems as if the swivel batt top holders are fixed and it will have a maximum height it will accept. anything less and you may have to put foam to compensate.

Would be interesting to run two 3S lipos in it with a low kv motor
