Quick Diff Removal Guide:
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Step 4
Step 5

You may try this and call me crazy, but once you can easily pop on and off those CVAs. This is literally a 5 minute diff removal. And you don't have parts strung out all over. Only 4 pieces. or "chunks" I should say. Lemme know if you guys have questions.

I got lazy and didn't want to do a video. Mostly because I have no one to hold the Cellphone Camera.

Your diff removal guide rocks!!! Made removing the diff easy, as I bought the truck used. Any chance you can do one for the front?

If you were referring to 2pole 540s, then the main difference is smoothness. A 2pole 540 on a SCT is extremely smooth. But you'll want to go with a 5.5T X12 Octa and the biggest rotor available.

My apologizes, as I don't understand.
My extra Ballistic is a Ballistic spec 10.5, with a 13.5 & 17.5 stator. I guess it is a 540. Would it work in the sc10 4x4? My current Motor in my truck is 550 Novak 5.5 HV.

Pretty much works the same way for the front.

I've heard AE may release a new 4x4 or an updated 4x4? Selling my SCTE and looking forward to trying out the AE.

I kind of wish I had a 5.5 550 instead of the 4.5.

If you are bound and determined to try the 540, I'd want either a 6.5/7.5/8.5.

Just keep a few 10mm ball studs handy...this mod does make it slightly easier to bend one on a hard side impact.

Switch to 12mm ball studs!

I did notice the slipper... uh, sucked. Pinned slipper shaft and Garodiscs ordered. :)

You had slipper problems with a 3500kw 540 motor?

You might be pleasantly surprised how well that scoots once you fix the slipper...there are a number of users in this thread that are running a similar powered setup and consistantly winning races.

I don't have to try the 540 motors. I have no problems with my 5.5 550. I am just wondering what you guys prefer. Are the 540 motors the normal motors for 2wd sct? Just seems like they might not have enough torque. Not sure what the difference is between a 2 and 4 pole 540. Googling it.

The 540s have less torque, so they are easier to drive in certain appliations. We think. The problem is they need extra attention (read that, big fans) else they thermal and/or burn up quite quickly.

Frankly, if you're okay with the 5.5, I'd leave it alone. I think my 4.5 will be fine once I get my truck properly set up.

Yeah. The slipper pads where glazed pretty badly from owner #1.

It atleast needs a 4 pole setup. I just was getting left on the faster sections. I can top my buggy out in two places on the track. So plenty big for the little motor.

Can't wait to get some better electronics. :)

The holes are not even close..... I'd rather wait for Exotek saddle pack brackets, I don't want to swiss cheese my new chassis and start drilling it out. I'll sell my B44 brackets. This sucks, I just bought my B44 saddle pack conversion a week ago. Like any hobby sometimes you lose money, to get it your way!!!!
