Probably you've worn through the shiny plating.... inconsistencies in the plating will show as the shafts wear....

I hate to bash trucks that are made for racing.

5000 milamps is plenty. Our truck is lighter than other trucks so big batterys are not needed. For a great price buy the Turnigy nanotech 6000 milamp packs. They will fit fine. I am running Gens ace lipos and they are the same dimensions as the nano tech packs. And the gens ace packs fit fine.

Take it from somebody that had an MBX5R that never saw the race track and owns multiple Savages...

Race-bred cars make the best bashers:nod:

Orion is ThunderbirdJunkie's favorite battery seller because they are the only LiPos not made in China.

Venoms are good budget packs with great service based in the US.

Maxamps...

Intellect ThunderbirdJunkie has heard good things about.

That all depends on how much you like lining other people's pockets.

If you are looking at 5000mah (and I can do a 10minute main on about 4000 at my track) then anything over a true 40C is more than most ESCs can pull anyway. The MMP is rated at 120A, and the RX8 is rated at 210A...40C @ 5000mah is 200A current capability....

I've got some Reedy 60C batteries, and I honestly cannot tell the difference between those and my buddy's Gens Ace packs that cost half as much... Were I to do it again, I would probably go Gens Ace or Turnigy. I'm actually really interested in the Herewin/Haiyin packs... according to some sources in the 1:1 electric drag racing crowd, the Turnigy packs use Herewin cells inside....as soon as Haiyin gets Canadian shipping sorted out, I will be bringing in a few sets to try out.

really? I'd hate to race a truck meant for bashing! ;)

I've hit my SC104x4 HARD at the track and it keeps coming back for more.... the back triple we had for the first half of the season was a good 25 feet from the top of the first jump to the face of the third, and I kept nosediving into that at top speed....no problems!

Well bashing on a track is different than going out on pavement and jumping the truck and landing on flat ground.
That is just my opinion
