Funny, Cake is my favorite band. I have been playing this track with distrubing regularity this week.

I have the vented slipper.
<snip> Those pads like I said are from 3 months of pre-pinned meyhem. And if you can't clean up those pads with some motor spray and a piece of 400 grit sandpaper where they look like they are new, you've overheated them so bad you've dusted them. Not an attack, just an observation. |

They used to drill brake rotors on real race cars till they came up with pad formulations that didn't need to holes to vent outgassing. I'm against drilling holes on friction surfaces because they always wind up cracking between them.

Wait, am I shimming it wrong. I thought the spacer went on the outside after the spring. What is the correct way for the spacer to be put in.

Associated sells a FT shock kit...but the ONLY difference is TiNi shock shafts and different color shock bodies. No need to upgrade the shock IMO...just buy the TiNi shafts and maybe some Trackstar O-rings and you'll be golden. If you are really looking for the best possible shock then maybe try polishing the pistons with a dremel, a polish wheel and some red jewelers rouge (you'll find this wherever dremel products are sold).

I personally would recommend for you to just build the kit & run it first & foremost. Then decide what you need to do to get going faster. You personally might not need the "pin mod" for your track...or you might need sway bars instead? Everything depends on your driving style & the track your racing on...you gotta figure that out first before you can know what upgrades you will need.
See how the truck's slipper slips. If it's not to your liking: 1. Slipper Spacer Modification 2. MTK Slipper Basket See how the truck does in your style of driving: 1. Leave it as a Decoupled Slipper Clutch 2. Pin the Slipper Depending on your Track and "lawn darting" you may need to install a chassis brace as well. Don't get ahead of not even having the truck yet. =D |

He is correct. You'll definitely end up doing some modification. That's a no brainer. But Drive the truck. See what you don't like, then here's the thread to fix it.

taking a look at the tracks you will be racing on . here is something i would try with the shocks use the A1 pistons all the way around use bladders and for the front 30wht and rear 25wht AE oil . it will let your truck land those big jumps better . thats my setup and i can land big jumps with ease . gearing wise try starting out with the 12 tooth on those tracks and dont try to push it too hard at first . the sc10 4x4 is made to be driven smooth . remember smooth is fast . oh yeah try adding counter weight to the left front by the servo about 4 oz
howe about temps howe does that mees whit the setups?? here when its summer and hot its about 25` celtius for the diff´s i think i try out 30K in front and 5 ore 3K in the rear |
