im having problems with torque. im on an rx8 with a sc4x 5.5. im either 15/62 or 14/62...i forgot what i tried last. i think it's the 15 though. it seems as though i can't really line up for a jump and pull trigger. it doesn't want to clear shizzzzz. i know other drivers who can just line up, pull trigger, and jump whatever they want, no problem. my truck is definitely not one of those...
No offence to Mac, because I admire his inventiveness and entrepreneurship, but I don't think that the slipper basket is the solution for everyone's slipper problems. I'm running HT pads on the inside and outside of my spur, 2 1/4" washers between the spring and slipper plate, and the spring fully compressed. I have zero problems with torque. Maybe my ESC settings and trigger finger are helping with this too, but I can go 3 full race days without having to rough up my pads....and even then, I'm not having any issues keeping up with the Losi and Ofna trucks at our track... We have a long 8-pack of doubles down part of our track, and if you mess up on your timing, it makes it hard to get the speed up to clear the next set... since tossing 2 $0.10 washers under my spring, I have not had any problems clearing the next set, even when I bugger up the rhythm.... |

Has anyone else had any issues with the shock cartridge not threading into the FT shock body properly? I opened both sets to start building them and was just checking things out before the build and I noticed this on every shock.

were you able to fix the issue .. if so how. The set also did not include the seals if you want to set the shocks up emulsion. This is real disappointing, this truck is really testing my loyalty to AE.

Same setup here and I've seen that last weekend when my sensor wire had removed itself from the ESC. It's back to pure awesome now that the wire is seated. Maybe replace the sensor wire or try another?

I'm building the factory team shocks with the gold shafts and I'm using the trackstar o-rings. All I gotta say is wow, what a difference in smoothness versus the stock shocks & stock x-rings! I really think 80% of the difference is in the o-rings! I'm excited to see how my truck works now with such a smoother suspension! Thanks trackstar!

Same here. I had a rear shock body that would not thread correctly. I ended up cross threading the cartridge so bad I could not get it to seal and had to use one from the blue bodies. It was the last shock I was building so I might not have been paying attention but it did not feel right about half way in. At that point it was hard to say if it was the cartridge or the body that had some crud in the threads.
I did exactly the same thing. I got some new cartridges but since I am working now and not leaking I haven't replaced them. The FT shock body part numbers are. ASC91110 ASC91111 |

Ordered :)
I barely had to dremel my rear cover for the Slipper basket to clear, very nice new revision, can't wait to run it as I had the "lack of torque for the triple" issue |
Getting ready to order some parts from A-main. Is the FT lightweight rear topshaft worth getting?
Also, I see lots of folks here are running the rx-8 and sc4x combo. Care to divulge your esc settings and # of pinion tooth? Running all stock setting on the esc and 14tooth, the temp on the motor got to 160d after a full pk, so thinking I'm about right on the gearing. |

FT shock building
I've had good luck reusing the cartridges from the blue bodies to the ft bodies. I have noticed that the 15mm cartridge tool stripped 1 of my cartridges, so I'm now using a 15mm socket & it works so much better.

the threads on the bodies are dirty. they need to be cleaned with an exacto blade or a tap and then sprayed with motor spray or the likes. then dab some shock oil on the threads. I got mine together but 3 of my 4 cartridges threads got a little messed up from trying to install them right out of the bag. well see it if leaks or not but i think its good. AE doesn't claim the emulsion seals are in there so you can't complain that they were "missing" but i too would have liked to see them in the bag.
