Thanks for your information. I just spoke with Bill from Team Associated, and he said there isn't any issue with the Comp V2 on the 4x4. Any ideas on keeping the motor/esc cool with a fan?

I had a lot of luck with this fan on my LRP X12L

I did replace the fan with a better one, but out the door still on 20 bucks.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice. Any other issues I need to be aware of? What gearing should I use with a 6.5 Trinity D3 motor on the truck?

Can somebody that has their truck handy measure the distance from the bottom of the belt enclosure to the chassis?

Wanting to figure out the tallest saddle lipo I could squeeze in.

thanks

I don't think that heatsink would fit on a 540 can as it sits in the sc104x...I was going to put a heatsink on mine but there just wasn't enough can showing to do it

I just purchased my SC10 4x4, and I had a few questions.

I have a LRP SXX Comp V2, and I want to run a Trinity 5.5 540 can motor. Will this be sufficient? Was the SC10 4x4 designed to run a 540 can? I know it's plenty of power, and the 1/8 systems are overkill. I just wanted to be certain before I continued my build. Thanks in advance!

Chad Good to hear that you just got the 4X4. will you be running it this sat at newreds? I will be there this week and have had my 4X4 since the first release day. i tried the 540 and i have a 550 LRP motors on mine. it seemed the 540 5.5 was faster than my 550 4.5. but i did have problems with heat. I would run that fan on the motor. hell im getting one for both motors and might put the 540 back in there.

wow, lots of new info here.

As for the LRP stuff, the only knock I have heard on them was getting customer service was a pain. Never heard a complaint about performance, etc. No personal experience on that though as I never had an issue with the ones I had, but, maybe thats why you don't see them much?

The Tekin RX8 is good and should be excellent in use in the SC104x4, its a 1/8 ESC after all. If it couldn't handle the SC104x4, then it would have no business in a 1/8 buggy or truggy. Excellent ESC though.

Question for you guys who do the backordering thing a lot, what are you seeing is common as far as shipping charges? used to do tower a lot so i figured when going to amain that the shipping charge was for the full order including backordered stuff, but its not. Backorder stuff is charged separately from your order and from what the rep said i couldn't "hold" the other stuff so it all shipped together?

anyway, just food for thought.

So what is the hot loamy setup now? Got swaybars to try out, full around, clutch basket, inner body, aluminum hexes, and a vehicle still NIB to build.

My belt keeps jumping also. Tried belt loose and tight made no difference. Put new tensioner pulleys on and it lasted about 6 minutes. I ordered new belt, covers, tensioners, bearings and pulleys as the last time it jumped off the front pulley I pinned it and melted the front pulley and cover. There is about 7 of these trucks at my track and mine is the only one with any belt problems. Something is wrong just don't know what yet. Hopefully since everything between the front and rear will be new the problem will go away...fingers crossed.

Check your belt alignment. i can almost gaurantee that if you look down the center of the belt housing from the front of the truck that the rear belt cover, center belt cover and front belt cover are bent to the right from drivers perspective if it were a 1:1 car. Ive noticed that this can happen with a lot of lawn darts/ landing nose first into the backside of a lander. And maybe over time it starts having an effect on the belt staying on the pulley.

Im running a 5.5 lrp 540 octa wind with the 13mm rotor. im at a 93/13 and it hauls on top end, almost seems like it needs a bigger spur but i dont think there is one out and im affraid to run a smaller pinion.
So to answer your question i would start with a 14 or 15 and go from there assuming your using 48 pitch

I used the Kyosho 96046, it has 3 different sizes (0.10, 0.20 and 0.30 IIRC) all 6mm x 8mm.
