SO i spent the day at the track testing the hub extenders. When i first arrived the track was very loose and like everyone else has said the truck was very fast, immediately started cracking off 30.1's with ease! which is basically wha ti was running at the race saturday with the exception of my 27.695 glory lap. the extenders i made are 8mm and i put 4mm on the inside link. the best way i can explain it was that the rear followed the front no matter what you did, i was actually able to pass my buddies Serpent BE! But as the track got grippier and became very hard to drive and on the sweeper it kept traction rolling. the steering became super twitchy (which was really the rear end trying to swap ends).I am going to order the 12mm balls to see if raising the inner more will help. I can definitely see how this can be an advantage. After i get the new ball ends iwill test more to see if i can come up with a good setup. BTW 5 pins was pretty good 4 may have been better but i only wanted to mess with camber links today.

Its the latest special edition short course truck issue.
Now I just feel dumb :) so basically I was stripping out my diff gears when I was hearing the 'clicking'.....I hate learning new things the hard way :) Thanks all! They are talking about 2wd SCT (every other pic is of 2wd trucks). Another great job by the editorial staff at RCCA.... Reading their articles makes my head explode with their grade 4 understanding of spelling and grammar......and articles like this, plus several instances in their recent buyers guide where they show pictures that are not relevent.....it hurts..... As for your clicking sound, I would take the pinion off and give the truck a push....spin each wheel independently, and see if you can isolate which corner the clicking is coming from. It COULD just be that your gear mesh is a little on the loose side, and as your motor is rotating into the 3 strong parts of it's natural magnetic field, the teeth of the pinion could be slapping against the spur.... If you have run the truck at all (which it doesn't sound like you have) it could be that there is a stone or two stuck in your spur gear. I had that happen at the motodome a few weeks. ago . |

He's saying "Raise the outer camber link to reduce traction rolling".
I haven't had traction rolling issues since I raised the inner camber links....though I don't have an indoor track, and last year, I did not have a great slipper setup so I did not have the power in the corners.... agreed, when i was having TR problems before i raised the inner link and shortened the rod and it went away but at that time it was TR'ing going into the sweeper where as now it wants to roll after the straight . so basically it is high speed rolling now. but i dont have the 12mm studs yet and i think it may be alright if i get the inner up a few mm more. We will see soon enough. it ran great when the track was loose though! |

I believe that my issues are being covered....traction roll.....raise inner ball stud...how much?....rear gear diff failure....why...how much$...and this new trick clutch I have....where in the world does that get set....I've toasted a set of rears so I'm guessing slightly less than ft recommendations? Please help....I have to smoke the slosi's...I've set my truck up as told by the FT 4x4 manual...except 10k front diff fluid...front blue springs on rear....and orange front sway and yellow rear sway....I race on a tight bumpy scale SC track...

thanks i will have it this weekend so we will see just wasnt sure if there was something drastic that i would have to look for in performance again thank you

it will be better.
;) VTS Slipper will let you get way more punch than the original, and more adjustability with 3 pads, 4 friction surfaces, and more tension under the spring.....about the same as MTK's basket. Brace will help with belt tension slipping under hard landings....about the same as....Coyote's brace? Not sure who started all that mess....but I remember Coyote being one of the first to offer them for sale... You can run sticks or saddles, which can help with the weight balance and get the truck jumping more level.... just like whoever decided to take the B44's battery tray and make it the Sc104x4..... Surprised that the FT kit doesn't include front springs for all 4 corners... |

my extra handicap is that my sweeper has carpet and elevated levels. so coming of the clay on high speed of the straightaway right on the carpet in the sweeper  but marcus, what is that 5 pin thing ?? or 4 pin thing ?? didnt quite understand |
He can add pins to his own centre diff to adjust it's bite.

Has anyone been able to fit an underbody on a FT truck and do you please have any pictures showing it.

Underbody with chassis brace |
But it doesn't say chassis brace or underbody in the post! Thank you.
:) (I do use it but I've read the whole thread and there hasn't been much talk of under bodies since the FT was realised) |

that is exactly what I have been experiencing. The hub extenders work best on low/mid grip. and when the track gets to higer grip levels, the truck will traction roll right away in the sweeper.
my extra handicap is that my sweeper has carpet and elevated levels. so coming of the clay on high speed of the straightaway right on the carpet in the sweeper  but marcus, what is that 5 pin thing ?? or 4 pin thing ?? didnt quite understand It was pretty much impossible to drive after the grip came up and keep in mind there were only two of us on the track, so the line between grip and higher grip was very fine! what i dont understand is that Kody and Steve were supposedly running this setup on a high bite track??? i saw both of there trucks run and they were locked down, no rotation at all which is opposite of what this mod does. not once that i recall seeing them traction roll. Now with that being said the tires they were using sucked azz on my Durango, and were very loose. maybe that was the difference but even then as i watched them (very closely:D) Sym and I both described them as "touring cars on dirt"! I am VERY skeptical about the pictures posted and the "setups" posted for that event. |
Yeah Man , no way the new Ae VTS slipper & Ae team set-ups work ..
Kody just wheels it ...... they can't tell us the set-up cus Everyone would be just as fast as them... |
i found a house bad new its a tad small got to down size
|
