Front Clicker

How many of you run the front belt clicker at the 2mm nut mark? That is, so the front wheels rotate and not brake after you let off the throttle.
Manual recommends running the nut tightened down so to have full 4 wheel drive all the time.

Which seems to be the best way to run the truck?
I will be running at a technical multi turn track with one long straight.

Rick

When I first got the sc10 I ran it with clicker on, I was so used to my 2wd sc10 that it felt better running it that way. But after owning it for awhile now its far better IMO to run it with clicker locked full time........

Parts missing) Not saying that it's not on par as everything else on the market nowadays ie: not produced in the USA. Owning over 30 new AE kits in the past I'm just a little dissapointed. No this isn't a bi*ch session but in these times quality control or return customers is not anything to get excited about anymore. Hit or miss. I guess I'll just buy the o-rings.

emulsion seals have always come included with the kits ....

Maybe you misplaced or lost ?

2000

I remember those days , raced the Roar off-road Stk Nats in Spokane .....

Compared to those days ?

Ae quality has improved steadily over the years , way more betta than ever I insure you...:)

If you have a problem , just call Ae ..

There always there for their customers ...

Not a fan of the clicker at all for off-road on this truck. Driving 4w is just different than 2w. Over time you will drive faster with it locked.

Ok cool, hopefully thats the last piece to this puzzle, there expanding the home track here by adding an additional 50 feet to the width of our track so its gonna truly be huge, bigger Lanes and bigger jumps are definitly gonna give the losis an advantage

The only upgrade I have left if not competitive next meeting - is a losi.

Thanks for the clicker advise. Thats why I bought the 4 wheel drive, to have all 4 wheels working for me. I got the feeling when driving with the "clicker" off that I did not have the control in corners.

Thanks......Rick

Motor question

Would like to hear performance and balance preferences between the 550 4.5 or 540 pro 4 motors? Im racing indoor and outdoor 1/8 tracks. I currently run a Tekin Rx8, Tekin 4.5, stick pack and Exotek chassis. which do you guys prefer and why?

Nick George didn't have any trouble jumping the triple, but he also has a clutch basket. Pizza guy Dave was jumping it with his 2wd SC, and Kevin was jumping it with his 22 buggy.

If you buy the FT upgrade kit, you get a multi part slipper that will fix your power down problem.

Without upgrading the slipper, more power makes the problem worse.

Were you pitted on the outside wall against "The Dungeon" next to the rock crawler track?

I could clear them if I hit everything perfect. Im going to pick up the clutch basket and garodisc. I did not know there was a ft upgrade kit. I will look into it as well...Bling always makes things faster:nod:

I have raced my FT four times now and the truck has some slop now. Mainly in the front inner control arm area and some in the rear. Looks like the pivot arms are tight.
Thinking about trying the RPM arms. Thoughts...

SC4X 5.5t in this truck...

I've been offered a trade for a lightly used SC4X 5.5T motor and was wondering if it would be good for this truck. Searches showed a lot of questions early on about this motor, but I didn't see many lately. I currently have a Novak Ballistic 4.5t 550 can motor with a RX8 ESC. I've done most of the mods on here with the exception of a saddle pack conversion. I know it's a 540 can vs a 550 so the torque will be a lot more in my current motor. Outdoor season is coming up and I'll be running on a large 1/8 scale track so I'm wondering if I would even use this SC4X motor.

Thoughts?

I had a 5.5T 550 all last summer and it has great torque but the top speed power isn't all that great.

Buy a Tekin Pro 4. It's lighter because it's a 540 and has more top end speed for 8th scale tracks because it's a 4 pole motor. I wished I had this motor last year!

Don't believe you need to replace the arms , suggest instead to get the coated suspension pins if you don't have yet ....

If you have major slop on the ft arms maybe replace , but I ran the arms for almost a year before I replaced with brand new again..

I never ordered LOL. For now I can wait. I'd really like to try it soon though.

Maybe I am missing something but isn't the SC4X also a 550 motor like your Novak 550?

I think the rotor on Tekin is 12.5mm and the rotor on the stock Ballistic 550 is 12.3mm?

May see more torque with the Tekin. Could be more heat resistant too since its thicker, though on these SC104x4s may be a non-issue.

I liked mine but the 540 4 pole Tekin is definitely more powerful.
