Default Glitching after a hard landing

I'm running a Havok Pro SC with a Ballistic 10.5 on my XXX-SCT and after a hard landing it'll sometimes shut down for a couple/few seconds. If I stay off the throttle it resets itself and then it's fine. Any ideas?

um don't land so hard?
but you could always send it in to novak if its still under warranty and they will check it out you probably broke up some stuff on the board

My tekin rx8 did the exact same thing as you describe. Landed from a high jump and truck just quit for a second then cogging. Brought it back to pits to check everything. Seemed Ok. Put it back out on track and truck just quit. Turned out to be something on the board failing. Was only the second day of using it. Very disappointing.

could be the on/off switch or bad sensor wire?

Was thinking of that. Also maybe use foam pads under your electronics so they are cushioned on hard landings.

On of switch most likley, see if you can wiggle it in the off position and get it to come on without fully clicking to the on position Or shut off in the on position. This is a fairly common problem.

i had this problem with my T4 with the rs pro, turned out to be the sensor wire. it would stutter and cog after a landing. worth trying. GL

I had a similar issue with my havoc 3S/ballistic. Wasnt taking any ungodly jumps, but i noticed it after some of the bigger one.

It turns out for some reason, the sensor wire was wiggling itself loose from the motor. Would only do it every other heat or so...

My fix was pretty painless though, i turned the wire around and it stopped doing it. It grabbed on to the other plug better. I didnt see any obvious difference between the ends...

Definitely a loose wire/connection somewhere. I'd check the sensor wire, solder connections to the motor, and the switch (especially if it's not mounted and just dangling around).

i race at my local track and bash my truck on high jumps all day long and never heard of having the problem you guys are having. the track is hard clay dirt mix. been slamming the truck down from jumps all the time with no issues. i probably have 40 or 50 battery runs threw the truck and never a issue. i dont have a seperate switch on my esc though. but can see that being a issue. oh by the way my truck is a stock slash with the stock vxl setup, so there is no seperate switch. i guess traxxas really does make some strong stuff. maybe you should get a vxl setup. i love mine, no issues at all.

Hes not asking to about a VXL.

He is asking about a novak setup and trying to get some answers. Still, i would look at switch and sensor wiring. Replace as necessary. If that doesnt solve it, it may be something with the board on the ESC, or sensor unit in the motor.

Ive heard of issues with the VXL also.

99% of the time you only hear about the bad. Very seldom does someone praise the good in comparison.

+1 on both.
When installing esc's or receivers to the chassis it is best to have them sitting on a bed of cushion that help keep the internal boards from malfunctioning due to the small components starting to separate from the board from hard landings.
I always use 3-4 layers of double sided tape
