You should be fine with the 5000 40C pack... 30's might heat up a bit.

Oh and I tested the SP V10 5.5 last weekend in the SCTe, it's definatly not like the 4.5 (4.5 rips ass). Worked fine, but still out of all the 550's the SP V10 4.5 is the bomb!!!!!!

Thanks buddy, Ya cant wait to try it out here. Ill probably use the 30 c for the qualies and the 40 c for the mains. It wont overheat or hurt the 30c ones will it?

Default Arm Defect repaired

Today I spent some time in my trailer and did the fix mentioned earlier in this thread.

Thank you to those of you who dicovered this fix. I have a Race on Sat I would hate to not be able to run this class.

I know Losi is paying attention to this thread, so I would like to suggest that after these real life defects are discovered, that Losi follow what Xray did for the Early 808 users; Prepare and ship a care package to registered owners that included all of the affected parts. I havent received my new diff pins yet, I am sure I will , but I feel that the gears must be replaced as well . The Arms should also be replaced. I think that all of these items should be sent as well as any part that is wearing out prematurely.

Anyway, I applaud you thus far on getting the diff pin problem solved, I hope I get to applaud even louder soon.

After making the repair to all 4 corners I went out on the track for 15 mins of pure fun. The car is a pleasure to drive and makes me look like a much better driver than I am. Awesome Job on the design Ryan / Losi.

FWIW: In my experience batteries with a low current capability will usually damage the ESC before they get damaged themselves. They cause too much ripple voltage and the input caps will overheat.

Anyone running the traxxas VXL system in there Losi. I am really considering selling my Slash 4x4 but keeping the electronics and putting it in the SCTE truck I just ordered?

Any thoughts?

Those are pretty strong motors, should be just fine on it.

Shock pistons? The stock shocks come with a #4 piston (Size?). I see that people are installing a #5 piston (Size?). Are the #5 pistons bigger or smaller then the #4 units? Seeing I don't have any to check can anyone tell me what numbered drill sizes they might be? Like the 8th scale 54,55,56?

Im about to ditch this balistic 4.5 550 for a castle 3800......i cant get the temps below 190. I set my rx8 to 70% current limiter, 10 timing. 15 on the endbell, with a 13 pinion. Am i missing something?

My battery is a thunder power 5200 50c

Check for binding or something... I run the exact same combo except for the battery and am only coming off at 120-130 range after a 6min main with a minute or two of warm up.

Check the drag brake off or lower rate C. Higher C rate get more heat.
