On our loose rough tracks 4wd has about 6-10% advantage.

Thanks, will look around when I'm closer to needing one.
Yes you are correct, im talking about indoor carpet at the moment, outdoor is a diff story.
Most 4x4 owners leave them at home these days unfortuatley

The ape needs some modding to fit the kingsheadz.

If it has two sets of holes isn't it fine? Mine has 2 sets of holes, I'm pretty sure it will work.

No it doesn't, just specify you want one for the KHZ chassis on the website when ordering it. You *do* need to dremel a bit of one of the screws that attaches the sideguards to prevent it damaging the battery.

Yeah thats what i thought too, only difference is two sets of holes instead of one so the battery because of the rotating of the center diff. My tray has two sets of holes.

Wow so I was bored tonight figured I'd rebuild my spare diff's w/ the new diff cups.. and they were not kidding buttery smooth way better than the old. The outside bearing is a SOB to get on though, takes some real elbow grease. I think we may see people going up in oil weight now that the diff's are so smooth :P

Anyway that just began my night after being so impressed when re-building my spare center and spare rear diff I decided what the heck,, ripped apart my SCTE and re-did them all. I must say it's been ages, I mean AGES since I ripped this far into my truck! Not a good idea but it's been running so well.. LOL I hated to make changes. Well it's a darn good thing I did, my motor bearing was shot, I had a diff bearing almost ready to die and man was it messy in there. The rear diff had nearly no fluid left :P well you get the point well over due. What a stroke of luck though, one more race and my motor bearing would have caused not only excessive heat may have done perm damage to my motor. Luckly I had a bearing in the box so back up.

Point if any.. the diff's cases are great, and man don't go 5 mos w/o a full break down LOL

[QUOTE=dtr;11626597]Do you use the regular M5 tekno pinion? Offset will make the spur wear much quicker and be more prone to stripping. Regarding gearing, which Castle motor do you have?
Personally I have use Losi and VP pro pinions, those fit well.

Yes, Tekno M5. This is my motor/ESC combo: http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...-race-pro.html

I also have a capacitor installed to prevent glitches. I bought a y-harness from Castle to quick-link the ESC to the computer/field link. The ESC starts as normal but after a few mins it starts beeping and won't work. I disconnected the capacitor and things worked again. Seems there's a conflict with the y-harness and capacitor. I need to remove the y-harness and put back the capacitor which is how I had it before without issues.

I will check out the Hot Racing, Losi and VP Pro pinions. Thanks!

Trying to figure out what pinion to run on another vehicle to match the FDR on the SCTE, but I can't find how many teeth the ring & pinion gears are, or the transmission ratio.

Anyone know?

Edit, nevermind, 3.888888888888889
