That is so ironic as both of my friends used to drive sc10 4x4's. Needless to say they sobered up and went losi. Kinda sucks as i used to could beat them when they had sc10's.

A breakage like that probably wouldn't be warrantied by any Rc manufacturer . Even if you did it 5 minutes into the first run. That said Horizon Hobbies has great Cs and will probably send you a replacement .

But I would just up grade to some ti turnbuckles and be done with it.

A friend of mine, an AE guy, was less than thrilled when he discovered that he liked my SCTE better than his SC10 4x4. Then it got worse when his daughter said the same thing after driving it. He's not giving up though, and he's sticking with his SC10.

Well here I am, never thought I'd be here, been rockin an Sc10 4x4 since they came out. It was a fast truck, and I did well with it. A month ago I started driving the 2wd sc10 and focusing on it exclusively. And at a race yesterday a guy brought a scte in and was having troubles with it and mentioned that he wanted an associated. I perked my ears and struck a deal. I traded a BONE stock sc104x4 for his Losi. It has the TLR chassis and tuning kit, hardened out drives on all diffs and aluminum rear hubs. I put a reedy system I had in it and took it out today.

First impressions? Well at first I thought it pushed real bad, but once I got a few packs under I got used to it, it defiantly has less steering than the associated but the truck is WAY more planted, way more stable and it makes me way more consistent. I might try and tune in some off power steering but that's it. Very impressed with this truck.

Hah, my front turnbuckle broke also the first time out and a few practices later the other upper went too. The guys who have older shinier buckles dont have this problem.

I "borrowed" the older ones and they have been holding up.

I am too cheap to put that much on titanium buckles, anything else that holds up better than the too much milled stock buckles?

I drove the desc v1 for over a year and when I got the loose end under control with weight in the back and really stiff diff oils the arms and hinge pins just kept on breaking. Like a lot, I gave up when I broke three arms on a big 1/8 track.

The desc has insane acceleration and turning capabilities but I like the Losi more because I can drive it like I like it and push more, without the fear of breaking stuff all the time.

We race now indoors on tiles with minipins on a very technical track and its a handful to keep up with the light descs (the v2s hold up inside a little better but have been still breaking more than the scte's).

On rcshortcourse.com Nitrokiller123 used Team Durango's 1:8 aluminium turnbuckles, they're a direct match, a third of the weight of the originals and they seem to be strong as well.

Think they are too short for the rear longer hub holes.

This is what I got a few weeks ago:

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_m...115833&sid=365

I drove it once; hmm not very planted.

I drove it again; hmm difficult car to drive (lots of reference cars, see signature)

Same day drove my friends SCTE and loved it. So easy to drive!

Asked advice in the SC10 section; too much work, too many parts and the end result will still be questionable...

Picked up a new SCTE this weekend. Switching electronics now.

Anybody want almost new SC10 4x4?
