My main reason for running it is because I could not get the stock one set where I needed it. Bench setting the slipper was impossible, I could tighten the nut all the way down and when hitting the throttle the front end would barely twitch.
I forgot to report back on this, but I checked my motor plate and it does not hit the V2 Slipper discs. No scratches or evidence of rubbing of any kind. Just to make sure once more, I re-assembled the AE slipper onto my 22 to test, tightened it down normally, and backed the motor pinion off, and she free wheels easily with no rubbing.
The problem still exists though in that the AE slipper slips excessively even with the nut bottomed out on the shaft, new spring and new pads, so I switched back to the stock 22 slipper unit. It works the best for me.

So i heard thatthe b4.1 has more rear traction than the 22. Is there any way i can get alot of rear traction other than tire choice?

Thanks,
Gio
Getting rear traction on the 22 seems to be more difficult then I thought it would be. The B4.1 has more rear traction and the Kyosho has even more than the b4.1. I love the steering on the 22, if I could only get the rear end planted. I know loose if fast, but its also not as consistent if your always on edge.

Hey, I would take it like this
Spur: 76
Pinion: 24
Motor: same which you still have
And then i can guarantee that there is no over heating.

I have the AE slipper set so I have a AE spur and the closest is 75.

the 23 and 75 sounds like it will be fine or even the 24/75.. it is 23/75 ATM

I'm geared @ 33/70 17.5 blinky. You will have plenty of top end. If not go up to 34 or maybe 35 I come off the track after 8 min main @ 120 both motor and ESC.

Walkman with the 10.5 motor I have on a 100x60 clay indoor track what gears would you start with?

Do the 1mm tranny mod, that helped me a lot. Also try putting 2mm of shims under the rear inner ball stud and 1mm under the outside, you could also try a 3/2 combo.

A lot of guys are pushing their packs forward quite a bit, but unless you have the traction to do that, don't. If the track is super slick, move the pack all the way back. Move it forward as you have more traction.

I've also found that most of the setup sheets list very light oil. I found that the car is twitchy and hard to drive when it's that light, although the pros may like it because it makes it very reactive. For me, I've been using 35 up front and 30 in the rear, it calms the car down and makes it a lot easier to drive.
