For those of you with questions on building ball diffs, this is a great video i found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EToj2yX76NU

Are savox servo horns compatible with any other servo horns like JR or Futaba? Where can i find a losi 22 servo horn for the savox?

I have absolutely zero experience with a 17.5. I have always run mod motors and recently went to a 13.5. It took a little getting use to. When the car went down the straight I felt like I had enough time to go make a sandwich.

I am sure someone will chime in with a good staring point. For what it's worth, I practiced with a guy running a 17.5 over the weekend. I don't know what gear ratio he was using but he had no trouble keeping up with a 13.5.

Just keep in mind the taller the gearing the more you have to watch your motor and ESC temps. I would say start with the 31 and see how it feels. If you want more you can always ad on from there. As far as a 70t spur, I have yet to find one in stock.

My 17.5 Ballistic is geared with an Associated 72 tooth spur gear and slipper pads with a 32 tooth pinion. My motor temps are around 140 after a 6 minute run.

I ran a 17.5 Orion with the stock spur, and the biggest pinion that would fit. I don't remember if it was 34 or 36 teeth. After an 8min main, it would barely be over 100* with the timing on the motor turned all the way up.

I had no problem keeping up with mod buggies on smaller tracks (RCHR). On the larger tracks, I didn't have the same top end, but still put down comparable laps to the mod buggies (RCE).
