Im not the fastest local at my track in 2wd butt on good days I can deff compete and mix it up with the fast guys. I used to be big on using drag brake until i drove a friends car that didnt have any at all and i love it sooooo now with my dub duece I run minimal drag brake(7) and have my brakes set so they are only strong enough to break sidebite so i can use em to get around those pesky hairpins.lol

Not a fan of drag brake, any more.
Like to let off and be in neutral, even have some forward accel for stock classes. Car needs to be set up for some good steering, hate to brake to make it turn.
Push brake set to medium, enough to change attitude in the air but not enough to make the car do crazy s#it when pushed fully.

Oh crap, you said fast guys.

You guys are seriously saying you drive without any push brake? This has to be some breakdown in communication, i don't know of anyone who drives without manual brake

Drag brake is an automatic minimum braking at neutral.
Some speedo's now have a feature they call push brake where it will maintain a little throttle if you let off to neutral to counter act any drag the motor might have.

So that is what we are talking about with push break. Not what you get when you push on the brake side of your trigger.

Make sense?

I have found that my lap times are fastest with only a small amount of drag brake on most tracks. The only exception being if I go to a track that is very loose with mainly 180 degree turns, I'll turn up the drag brake.

I recently turned up my drag brake and my car pushed more in the middle of the corner. Will be turning it down some next.

Default Drag Brake

I don't run drag brake either, coming from nitro, the drive train gives you a mechanical brake, (so to speak). I am still trying to get the feel of the buggy but, just enough brake to keep from swapping ends is all you really need.

Now it's time to go play with my ESC and see if I can keep from oversteering by not getting to deep in the throttle to quickly.
