Ive been running Mid motor at a local track here in Phoenix that is pretty high bite. I think it works good. Whether or not it works better than rear, i can't say for sure one way or another. All i can tell you is that my laptimes are comparable to other drivers around my same skill level that are running rear motor 22's, or b4s.

With that said, there are 4-5 electric tracks in my area, and the mid motor car only works well at the high bite track.

I havn't done any of the "mods" the oople guys are doing

No I was refering to oople as the place to get UK mid motor info. Not a lot of those guys are over here and that is a much better place to get and ask info on there setups.

I can say I never had an issue with grip. Although trying to get a vehicle that was desinged to run both rear and mid motor to have more grip in mid versus just throwing rear on there seems silly to me unless people like to tinker. Our car in mid motor is designed for true mid motor tracks, otherwise, run rear motor. Some race from over there just featured a guy that ran mid that won and another guy that finished 2nd or 3rd running rear, so it would appear it works good both ways.

You know i've been wrong alot, but how would there be any advantage to turning the battery sideways and then putting the esc where the batt was? I would think you would have more rear weight with the batt the way it was and the esc and wires all in the rear (stock location).

If any of you guys are thinking about mid motor, I will say that Friery has really made it work at our local track. In the past 2 months, he's the only driver other that Maifield to put in a 13 lap run in a qualifier. So if you're looking for a US setup, I would start by sending him a PM.

As for that posted "mid motor solution" link, can running that much driveshaft angle really be called a "solution"? I would think it would create some series binding issues for off-road.

I noticed you could reverse the arms a while back and may have posted it on here especially for the mid-motor guys. Glad to see it in use. I still want to build one mid-motor just for fun.

does anyone have suggestions on what lipos to run? I just finished building my 22 in the rear motor configuration. I will be running in our stock 17.5 class with no boost.

Are the shorty packs still the way to go? I have been doing some reading on here and it seems like some people are switching back to the standard stick packs. Any suggestions on what brands and shorty vs standard would be appreciated
