I am relatively new to ball cups on turnbuckles, and these are especially tough ones. Anyone have a trick to remove them from the posts?

The old Losi turnbuckle wrench works great.

Anyone running their 22 on dirt/clay with mid-motor set-up?
Do you like it or you might switch to rear motor?

I put in a Savox 1258 and used no shims and haven't had any issues.

+1 for the MIP/Thorp wrenches.....hands down the best IMO.

you do need the best grade of screws for these tips as they are ULTRA hard.....they will strip out a soft screw quick.....in regards to that...the hardware with the kit was top quality!

+1. The aluminum screws in CRC kits are crap. No problems whatsoever with this Losi kit though.

How are you guys mounting your body? With the supplied posts, with just velcro or both?

I couldn't agree more. My Thorp wrenches have been in my toolbox for 10 to 15 years and they still work like the day I bought them. The 2mm wrench assembled my entire 22 without a single issue!

I used only velcro on the sides and it works great.

I am using velcro on both sides....I even trimmed off the front nose section just behind the rear of the hole to avoid having to pin there as well....the full sides are more than sufficient to keep that tiny little thing in place.....my wife was like why is it so small

I got 2 cars and set 1 as mid and 1 as rear and on med-bite indoor clay the rear is hands down better right now. But I weighed the mid motor car and with the short battery and small electronics it came in over 30 grams lite. So until the weight kit for the mid car comes out I'll leave that setup there for parts instead of hanging 50g of stick on tire weights.

I just want to make sure what to watch for while assembling the diff tonight. People are having issues with the diff nut stripping and the diff screw/bolt shearing off? Any issues with the diff nut spinning in the plastic holder?

The assembly really looks no different than the T4.1 I built a couple mo ago...

I have used my MIP to get out screws stripped by other wrenches!

I have just been using the body clips. Getting the nose in the tower and over the nipple is somethign you get used to.

I put a small drop of CA on the small diff nut, placed it into the tnut and somehow it still stripped. Could be my caveman hands or a kit weakness. Associated diff nut and screw is an easy replacement if you have problems. I like the threaded insert of the AE better. The rest of the kit is butter, I really like how many pieces interlocked to increase rigidity, i.e. transmission, front bulkhead, front bumper. Good job Losi engineers (Dyno Dan)!
