You can safely drop as many pinion sizes as you want.
I believe the RTR use a 13.5 motor which are extremely reliable. Got one in regular use for over 5 years now....
You can safely gear up or down at least 2-3 teeth higher or lower. Check motor and ESC temps after a few minutes of running to be sure

I run 22/78 with an 8.5 currently at a medium size track. When I run at a smaller track I dropped to a 21 and sometimes even a 20.

I understand the Pros in my area like the AVID slipper. Any thoughts in here?

What should I gear the 17.5?

Switching to ball diff
I bought a 22 rtr and want to switch from gear diff to ball diff. Would I be able to just get the service package or would I also have to change the outdrives? I'm assuming it's the same size outdrives? Also, which balls should I get? Is there a good aftermarket kit? Should I get the ceramic or the tungsten?
Any info would be helpful.

Hey this is the tlr servo arms necessary for the buggy or can I just use a standard one to fit it?

Casper or anyone running his setup. Posted this a few pages back but it was overlooked. Any help would be great.
Casper,
My car felt a little lazy and had a hard time rotating around a lot of 180's with the 4 hole pistons so i Switched to the two hole pistions but it seemed inconsistent in the front. I liked the rear with 2 hole but when i switched to front, it seemed a little twitchy and inconsistent with steering. Seemed to hook at the end. I did keep the same oil and spring as i was running with the 4 hole 55 piston. Do i need to compensate with oil or spring when i change to the two hole in the front?
On your new setup, why do you run 3mm on the inner rear camber link? Will that take away the exit traction by decreasing the roll?
Also, what would i notice on your setup if i went to 1-d instead of 1-b.
We are running on really tacky high bite clay in which we run slicks.
Any help would be great.
