I wait for the release of GPM products for the Avante in August.
Thanks for the reply reason i was asking is my track is running a vintage classs and i was going to run this buggy... What other upgrades would you reccomend doing to the kit when building.

Thanks,

Cheers

Titanium screws only. Let's wait what GPM is bringing us.
Great to hear that your club is running a vintage class.

A TZ is a 23T super stock motor from tamiya and tamiya mentioned that they included the GT Tuned 25T motor with special label.

My mistake, you're right. It is a GT tuned motor.

It is normal that the transmission is a little hard or braking? is the first time I spend with a Tamiya.
In the center differential, there is much pressure to give the screw?

Thanks. Best Regards.

What motor do you run? Stock or brushless. I drive brushless and I have no problems.

That's the same wind of the kit, What esc are you using? Maybe it is possible to reprogram the esc or the brakes on your radio and give it less brake.

I put the Tamiya TEU-302BK, but it works well, as also I am using for the Hotshot and Blackfoot.

The transmission of this Avante is not the smoothest. It really is a car with a high price, and now I understand why was not successful when it came out in 1988.

It could not stand against the belt driven cars like CAT, optima mids although it was a revolunary design. I still like the looks of the car and the performance. For serious racing it is not meant therefor we have B44.1's and the Durango's

The trans on the 1988 Avante is silky smooth, but the 2011 Avante not so.. Must be binding somewere in the rear gearbox I think.
I drove the original Avante to some sucsess back in the 80` and Im trying to make a racer of the new one. Ive put the chassis from the 2001 Avante on to gain some 15mm on the wheelbase. And Im using the HL dampers from the TRF201 front and rear. Waiting for the balldiffs from the new Vajra and maybe Im going to use the steering from that one also, or maybe from the M-05..
