It improves natural braking and makes the gears ware longer. Down side is the gears may be louder. I have the slipper set at about 6'' the brakes set so the rear wont lift off the ground. My brakes will upset the kit but not lock up.

Its worked very well for me. I run a 6.5 and soon to be running 5.5.

damn, my brakes are high and i never use em unless in the air. deff can take out a lot.

Ryan Maifield is using a Reedy 627 which has more runtime and higher C rate than the pack that Cavalieri uses from Orion. So he cuts the ballast weight down some to keep the total weight of the battery plus ballast the same between both set ups.

Thanks!
I tried the 50 (using lead weight for now) grams this weekend while using the Reedy 627 pack. I never added weight before this. I added additional weight for the main to see what would happen, turned out to be a bad idea. I liked the 50 grams better. Totally amazed at how much better the car handled with the weight.

What weight are the factory drivers running their B44.1?

You have that backwards. Cavalieri is running the 90c Orion 5500 saddle. The 627 is a 60c 5200.

wheels

Does proline make front wheels for the b44.1? I see front Hex wheels for the b4.1 but those are not the same correct?

If I want to run yellow fronts do I have to use associated wheels?

Yes, Associated is the only manufacturer of 4wd B44 front wheels. You can also use Losi 4wd buggy front wheels which will fit.

You sure about this? I have some B44 front JC Rulux. It uses the standard hex though.

Losiho 02-21-2012 12:35 PM

Paul Wynn has said in the J Concepts thread that JC will be releasing a Mono B44/44.1 front rim in the future.

littlewack 02-21-2012 01:02 PM

So if i convert the rear of the b44.1 to hex then I cant get matching wheels(yet)

Sounds like Proline/JC make hex rears but no B44 front
and Associated has b44 front but no hex rear.

Personally I dont like the Rulux wheels

Asharus 02-21-2012 01:22 PM

I use standard AE yellows up front and TLR22 yellows in the rear with JC rear hex adapters

any problems with getting your rear wheel nut on/off? Some locals at my track say depending on what nut driver you have you can run into some issues because the TLR wheel is made for a smaller nut than the B4 uses. So if your nut driver's wall is too thick you run into some issues.

Durango DEX410 front wheels are a direct bolt on for the B44. Not the V3 wheels, but the original ones for 410 and 410R

Yup. The AE 11/32 nut driver will fit, but no other driver I have will fit in the TLR wheel with the 11/32 nut. But theAE driver will fit, it's got a thin OD.
