hey guys i just picked up a used b44.1 with a spektrum s6040 servo and lrp x12 vector 6.5t motor. what do you recommend for a rx/tx combo and most importantly a good esc? thinking about castle or lrp but so many options.

I'm running a speedpassion. They are on sale right now for $99. Works just as well as my tekin pro. The prostock will handle down to a 5.5. If u wanna spend a little more, u can get the pro for $125. I have both, which is working great so far for me.

It seems like the servo from the Strike is too big to fit into the B44 - do I need a new one?

Could anyone recommend a budget solution, I don't want to put too much $ into this until I know for sure I want to stick to 1/10, and not give into the urge to go 1/8.. :sneaky:

Also - it doesn't seem to be a designated space for the rx and esc, where did you guys place them and how did you fasten them? :confused:

Savox works for me and they are cheaper but great quality. Receiver goes on the right side opposite the servo and the ESC right next to the servo on the same side as the servo. Both attached via good double sided tape.

I see that A Main has like 29 different Savox servos - are they all the same size so they will all fit the B44?

No... stick to either the 1257TG or 1258TG which are standard size servos. Savox makes High output, mini, micro, large-scale, etc. The two I listed are the best for this application. 1257TG is plenty, 1258TG has a little more torque and a slight increase in price.

I use the low profile one. I think it is 1251. It is the only low profile one they make.. Have them in all my cars. Love them.

So the 0252 won't cut it? It's half the price, and I'm sort of on a budget .. ;)

That's a decent one. It has the metal gears so it will last a while, and the torque is sufficient. The Difference is the transit speed. I use the 1257TG because of the 0.07 transit time which gives a real connected feeling for the driver. The 0252 has a slower speed, but not so bad it hampers driveability.

The standard layout is with the RX in front of the motor and the ESC behind the servo. Everything is attached to the chassis with servo tape.

Mine has a somewhat different layout with all the electronics behind (or on top) of the servo and the only wires crossing the drive shaft go to the motor...

Viper VTX10 is really nice. I currently use a Novak Kinetic with great results. LRP's obviously... The Novak GTB2 will handle a 6.5T. It doesn't have timing adjust, but with a 6.5T you won't need it.
