Thanks again for all your help!!!!
It is definitely worth just getting a new kit, because it is simply that. When directly comparing a FT B4 and a FT B4.1, there are many difference and all for the better. There are the obvious changes that are listed on all of the ads and AE's website such as shocks, cvas, rear hubs and slipper clutch. But the parts quality of the entire car is much better.
Almost all of the chassis components such as the chassis, the A-arms, and shock towers are manufactured from new molds. These new molds leave almost zero flashing. No more breaking out the xacto blade when installing a new front arm. Did you ever notice that when you crank down on the front hinge pin brace that it binds up the travel of the front A-arms? The new kit doesn't do that. The bottom of the chassis is completely smooth, no more "circle thing". The front of the chassis has been beefed up just a tad and they added a set screw for the antenna (not a big deal, but a nice touch). The rear shock tower has the new 4th hole position and provides more clearance for taller batteries. It uses B44 spring cups in all 4 corners to allow for better clearance from the A-arms. The bottom plate is different and allows for the revised gear box. There are other differences too, but these are some of the main ones that I noticed that actually improve the car.
All of these changes make the car more tunable, easier to maintain, more durable, and easier to work on.

I think the plastic is a little different too. At least it looks and feels that way.

My FT T4.1 kit I just assembled Tuesday did not have the 4-hole rear shock tower. I had to drill it. Anybody definitely get one with a 4th hole? Just curious. Other than that, it went together great and drove even better at our wednesday club race, using the only T4.1 setup on AE's site.

only the buggy has the "4th" hole. the truck has the sc10 rear shock tower, with the "old" holes.

There isn't actually a 4th hole. It's just that the inner hole is where the old one on the b4 had to be drilled. This is for the b4.1.
I drilled a 4th hole in my old t4 tower though for a setup. Is the t4 shock tower the same in the 4.1? Or is it modified to have the "4th" hole position as well? Please confirm.

The new B4.1 tower does not need an additional hole and yes it will bolt right into the B4.

There is NO new hole on the truck rear tower. Its just the sc10 tower, new material and it allows for larger lipos.

Only on the buggy.

The T4.1 shock tower is the same geometry. In our testing, we did not find that the shock tower needed a revision like the B4.

The B4.1 tower has 3 holes only, but all holes are shifted inward compared to the B4 tower. All spare parts will be updated as a running change. Carbon towers unfortunately are not available in the updated version.

Sorry, I should have clarified that the B4.1 shock tower does not actually have 4 holes. I and others call it the "4th" hole because on the old shock tower you had to drill a 4th hole yourself. Now they have added the "4th" hole and eliminated the outer hole. Sorry for the confusion.

In case your vehicle is loud i'd suggest you take a look at the spur.

Some aren't very round at all, i replaced my kit spur to a RW spur and it's much quiter.

the kit spur just didn't spin true.

Yah, I hear ya, FT SC10 is dead quite with the kit spur and cheap RR pinion, FT B4.1 has kit spur and same cheap RR pinion so I'm hoping it's loud from the tranny issue but I doubt it....I hate load cars!! R/C not the real thing, I have old fogy neighbors that flick me off when I drive by with my truck..

Raced both RT5 and T4..
I prefer the T4 it suited more for my driving style better then the RT5..

RT5 never seemed plated to the ground.
very twitchy.
not enough rear traction.

quick change wheels are around.
best shocks on the market.
good steering.

T4 A-arms can be fragile at times.
turnbuckles another weak spot.
leaky shocks.

plenty of steering.
jumps great.
planted to the ground.
tons of parts support.
