I only recommend what Ae team drivers use , they test and have the skills to know what really makes your B-4 go faster, their your best source for set-up info & advise ...

Unerstandable, but a few of them are using Kyosho springs on their Ae shocks as we speak.. it's supposed to be a secret

really?? for the time yes but drop modern equipment set-up for those conditions on that track and they would make that look like the current 17.5 class..
FYI, I was around back then so it's not like I don't know how fast things were back then..

And one of them was testing Yokomo Big Bores, but they gave up on the project. point is kit shocks are fine, whilst I agree Kyosho has the best shocks hands down, and now the already unstoppable RT5 will have Big Bores on it, will only make it more dominant. when it comes to shocks, if a team driver tries them and says no-go, I listen.

Another newbie question- I've noticed that when I spin the motor (Reedy 3300kv) by itself there's some resistance between the turn, is this normal? shouldn't the motor spin freely/ smoothly?

It's normal, and it depends on the design of the motor. Some spin more freely than others.
