I haven't used them yet, but was about to-until I noticed the difference in width! I think am going to order these for a little more durability though : http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ont-Axle-Set-2

B4.1 vs B4 noise level.
I own a RC10B4 factory team car with a few upgrades. 2 of my buds own B4.1's one is RTR brushless the other is a FT car.
My upgrades are. ACC 9826 SC10 T4.1 B4.1 Tranny case. I have the ball diff and a gear diff. I have a SC10 T plate for the new tranny case. I also have MIP CVD's. I run the standard B4 FT axle carriers not the FT B4.1 2 piece. B4.1 rear Aarms. The only major upgrade I do not have yet is the new clutch plates pads and spring.
My point
My car is alot louder then the 2 B4.1's. My mesh is good my bearings are new my tranny is smooth my diff is smooth. Yet my car has a high pitch whine to it that is not present in the 4.1's. Could it be the new clutch plates that the 4.1's have maybe they don't vibarte or something. All I know is my car sounds so much different then both of there cars.
And no they have not lubed up there trannys.
Driving me mad any help would be great thanks.

The noise is most likely coming from the wonderful AE spur gears. A lot of them are out of round. I've got an 87 in my B4 right now that howls like a banshee but the other 87 I have is in my kids SC10 and is quieter than a church mouse. Someone earlier (I think it was JMuck) mentioned Kimbrough's being better.

AE's lack of detail bothers me. I don't hate them for it, but having springs rub shock bodies and out-of-round spur gears are bothersome. I never hear the Losi or Kyosho guys voicing their concern over parts out of tolerance.

Yup, totally out of round. I borrowed a friend's Kimbrough and the mesh was consistent (stayed at the same level throughout rotation).

I think the spring issue is going to be resolved with bigger diameter springs and progressive spring rates like those of Kyosho. Lately i have seen a few team drivers using the kyosho springs...maybe for testing? I'm curious if we will see a new car at the worlds...or soon after?
