Wafflet runs a t4 chassis and I tried it for a short time. I didnt like it. It made the car feel dead. Turned like a limo. But I was running on a right indoor track. I would give it a try if I were you, but go all the way. Dont make it a half and half. put your v2's on with the b4 towers and arms. you will need turnbuckles also. As far as setup, your can start with the current b4 setups and use a v2 shock package, but I would tun a shorty. You might want to try and run it without and lead accept from the 1/2 oz to balance the receiver and esc, or maybe even center line the electronics to make it more responsive.

that is a pretty heavy pack. when the shorty is too light, I either run a shorty with weighted foam or the eco power 5k packs. Its a 30c pack and weights about 280grams with the connector. Heavier than a shorty, but not super heavy. this is in 13.5 racing or mod. in 17.5 I almost always need the lighter shorty
yeah, she is a porker right now. We run full mod out here, and some one of the race series if I recall correctly runs a 15 minute main.
For me at least, i figured also being able to standardize on 1 pack (the 7200s use the 5mm bullets) would be nice. Just need to figure out setup. need more grip out here.

I run the GensAce 5k 50c packs...supposed to weigh 298g.
Honestly I have never felt that the car felt too heavy...too light if anything. I find that I feel like I can push my wheeler and eBuggy harder as they feel more planted...which is funny as my lap times aren't all that much better...well the eBuggy is a few seconds faster but the wheeler isn't.

The b4 is really good with the box setup on most all tracks. I sat there and tuned mine for months and without even knowing it, I ended up at the b4.2 kit setup, lol. A lot of the faster guys locally run the box setup. Although C hubs is popular in a lot of places, I dont see it much locally. I think most people are just playing with shock packages looking for the right amount of dampening and pack. In my experience, the b4 just need the kit setup and the right tires. If your a pro or on the cusp of becoming a pro, then you might require a bit more tuning. Most people that build their kits to the kit setup and come on here and say it handles poorly, have the wrong tires or they need to sauce them. Like you, I try to keep RC on a budget and tires are the most expensive part of racing. I have always known in my head that its about tires, tires, tires, but in my heart I am cheap, lol. Recently, I started chasing setups on my b4 and 22. The car was really not doing what I wanted. A local sponsored driver told me my tires were no good. I looked at then and said they look fine, about 80% tread left. Just before the main, he handed me a set of his "practice" tires. They looked like about 95% tread, so I tossed them on. they were the same tread pattern and compound I was running before, just newer. The car was great and was on rails. if I could pick a sponsor to give me free stuff it would be tires and rims. Sadly, if I want to "enjoy" racing and get the car to be more consistent and "feel" better. I need to buy tires more often. bleh. Also, I really like closed cell foams in the rear. I have been using aka red's and they are better on the second set of tires on looser tracks. Open cells just break down too fast for me, much faster than tire wear. I am referring to the rear tires. just use a sharpy, to mark a notch on them for each set of tires you used them in to track their age.

out here, the setups that in general get posted for "low" grip till need even more grip lol.
Indoors the buggy was on rails, no doubt. Just very effortless to drive with either the fat pack or a shorty.
Right now my big debate is keeping the vehicle or selling to fund my girls entry into RC. Got it pretty loaded with parts, tires, etc right now.

What? no. The b4 is NOT a great beginners racer. To fragile. The b4 really dislikes pipes. I really like the b4, bu the weak front arms make it a not very great new driver car. Get a SC for the girls. If your class allows novice to run 4x4, get them a sc4x4 and slow it way down. The b4 is a great low grip car. maybe the best low grip car on the market. When our track is in "practice" mode, meaning no water and no sweeping, it can be like ice for the durango, 22 and other brands. At one time, I owned a b4, rb6 and a 22 all at once. I ran the same tires and used setups that normally work at my local track. the b4 was the only buggy to drive in a straight line easily. The 22 was LOL. I could not imagine anything worse than that, lol. The rb6 was decent also, but not as good as the b4. Our track is soooo loose in practice, i dont even bother with practice anymore. The b4 is the easiest buggy I have ever owned to drive on a loose track. As some point...IE Ice or marbles, nothing is going to work. I drive on everything from wheeling popping high bite to cant get past half throttle low bite and the b4 is the most consistent across all tracks. But it is not durable enough for my 8 year old. She drives decent and is starting to actully pull the trigger. In fact she went the fastest she ever has last weekend and was only mashelled 2 times. But she will often clip a pipe at 3/4= speed and the b4 will just break. her 22, just bounces off the pipe and continues on. They allow 4x4 sc in the novice class here, or so they have been. I should let her run my scte at 1/3 max power and own the class, lol.
Wanna hear stupid? Our Sportsman class (novice) is run what you brung. There is an 8 yr old driving a Nitro Truggy regularly...racing against 2wd SCTs and last week a 2wd Buggy. It only took until half way through the first lap of the first heat for the Truggy to drive right over top of the buggy.
The kid actually is really good with the truggy, I think he only needed marshaled 2 times last weekend.

Wanna hear stupid? Our Sportsman class (novice) is run what you brung. There is an 8 yr old driving a Nitro Truggy regularly...racing against 2wd SCTs and last week a 2wd Buggy. It only took until half way through the first lap of the first heat for the Truggy to drive right over top of the buggy.
