Did some back to back testing last night, the full-size pack gained 1 lap over the shorty in my car last night. I can add weight, or just dump the shorty packs altogether.

Keep both. Just run the full size if it works better on that track. Some guys like one over the other in certain situations. For example, you may like shortys better when their is no traction but like std when it's high bite. Everyone is different, so keep at least 1 of each, try each one in practice, and then run which one suits you better on that particular day.

I only have shortys so Im going to get a wolf pack just to be able to do this.

The car felt MUCH better. I gained steering and forward bite with the added weight. Hell, I had much more of everything with the big pack.

I like the stick over the shorty as well. I'm not sure if it's the weight or the distribution of weight.

I also tried two different different stick packs and the lighter pack was more noticeably lighter and jumped farther, but was unsettled easier. I only adjusted ride height, I didn't change oil or springs for the weight difference. I didn't think the weight was that big of an issue, but it did handle different. I like the feeling of the heavier pack but I was faster with the lighter pack.

yeah, I would probably trade my shorty for a full pack. but I dont know anyone local looking for a shorty. I find it makes the car inconsistent. It jump well, but the rest is weird for me.

Anybody else stripping their top plates?

I admit I'm not the best driver and I will occasionally hit something. So maybe that's why I keep stripping the top plate. I'm careful not to over-tighten the 3 screws on the other end into the chassis. (the ones with the countersink washers. I even save those 3 and do those last.)

No, I dont even know how you can strip them, even if you hit something hard... You must be using the wrong screws.

are you using the carbon top plate? the plastic one strips much easier than carbon

I love the shorty packs, but the added weight is critical, 1/4 oz in the corners, the 1/2 oz next to the reciever, the weight of the servo all play in.

The medium weight, 4000 mah regular packs drive ok, landings suffer. Then the heavy 5000 plus mah packs i hate, drive horrable.

I am also on GHEA pistons, and Yokomo springs. So there may be the big change.

If any of you guys that hate the shortys got some for sale let me know, i am in the market for maybe 2x. Gonna start working on my T4 shorty set up as well.

This is the 2nd plastic one that the screws have stripped. I got a carbon one before and it didn't seem to fit right. If I attached the bulkhead end 1st the chassis end came up about a half an inch short as if it didn't have enough bend in it.

I guess it's possible the screws aren't long enough - I'll research that next.

Thanks guys

Hey guys, I just bought a b4.1worlds and am getting back into rc so trying to catch up on the latest new stuff, gez being away 2yrs and so much changed (small things at least). Anyways are the hex adapters really worth it? Only plus I can think of is the front bearings aren't housed in the wheels. Looks like there is added rotational weight so on the fence about it. If I do it now is the time though before I buy all my tires.

I would be racing stock at the socal indoor tracks.

Thanks

do you guys find is difficult to NOT have a 2wd buggy. Brand does not mater. I keep wanted to sell my buggy and try a different class. But i cant pull the trigger, lol. I have had a buggy for 20+ year. Never not had one and I still consider it the premiere class.

I've only had mine a short time and I've stopped driving my T4 and race my SC every so often. Actually, the only reason I'm still racing SC is because I'm leading points in the local series. That is the only reason for me to race anything other than my Buggy.
