The car turns better, and I think even jumps better than my 22. I will need to put stock motors on both (only the 22 had a mod) and try them again, side by side.

Thinking of some mods.. already have modern lipo/brushless and the right tires. What is worth upgrading that really makes a difference? It's the original RC10B4 Team Kit.
Nada - it's still a very competitive car, I would change the shock o-rings though. The shock caps with bleeder screws are a very practical $5 hop-up, for the rest, run it as is and you'll be on pace with everything else if you have the right fingers... The only significant differences between a b4.1 worlds and the b4 really are the longer chassis... the rest is grossly the same

Awesome!

I'll spend more money on practice fees, tires and batteries.

I also am using my b4 from 2003 ish. I did need to upgrade my rear shock tower. They increased the cutout for the battery strap. Some of my lipos fit with the old tower but not all. If you buy a pack and it does not seem to fit well, get the tower, plus the newer rear tower has a new inside hole and they removed the old outside hole,

Also, if you have a lot of losi 22 wheels, you can convert the b4 to hex. you will need the avid hexes and the sc10rs front hubs and a different front axle. If you really need me to I can goto amain hobbies and look up the part numbers for you :-) I have not had my caffeine yet and I am a bit on the lazy side.

FYI, AE makes a plastic hex conversion, that's only $5. I run then when I want to run the hex leftovers from my 22.

how well do the plastic ones work? I was worried that they might pull off and get stuck in the losi/avil wheels

They do
I drilled a small hole in mine for my SC10 and put a small set screw in them. works just like a alum. clamping one but cheaper lol

cool, I have not put mine on yet, trying to use up my stock rims atm. I plan to switch to hex, so much easier for tire swapping. The RS hubs can move forward or back and I believe the angle of the ball stud is different. How does this affect the b4's handling? And +1 to the hole and set screw.

Also, my b4 is a bit older than most. I honestly cant remember what caster hubs I was running 5 years ago. I know most people have switch to 30deg. And i "think" mine are 30, but unsure. Plus they are the old 2 hole style not the 3 hole. Is there any way to tell if mine are 20,25 or 30 deg caster? I really need to get a paint marker and mark this stuff.

So I'm looking for some other suggestions on ESC's that I might be able to get in the $100 - 150 range. If I have to go to a RS Pro or a Venom to run the Revtech, I will. Just don't want to shell it out if I don't have to.

Thanks guys.
You could get the Novak Edge 2..

sigh, I highly doubt you will find a better esc for under $200 than the Brushless Hobbies 120 amp esc. I have yet to meet a person that didnt like the smoothness, power and price of the esc. It is only $67 and definitely worth a try.
