I see that this buggy has droop screws, how are you guys measuring droop???
#9229
what exactly do you mean? Typically droop is measured by using calipers from the center of the upper shock screw to the center on the lower shock screw

Droop should be set.. measure from center of shock top (screw or mount) to center of screw on the shock bottom while at full extension (IE off the ground).
Setting this keeps the drive train smoother at full extension you can get a lot of vibration with the sharp angle the axles have. You don't need a lot but it's worth doing iMO, just keep measurement the same and use as little as possible for most tracks. Hold your buggy off the ground, you'll know if it needs a touch or not.

A lot of the setup sheets on petitrc only show 1mm, 2mm, 5mm, wishbone droop. And was wondering how they were getting that measurement.

Can someone do me a favor and measure the length of their slipper spring uncompressed? I'm having a issue with my new build, the car unloads on the carpet unless I ease into the throttle extremely gently. The diff feels like it should, I put a smaller aftermarket spur that recommended associated pads on it for stock gearing, thought that might be the issue but switched back to the included spur and pads but it still won't grab hard like it should. My spring measures 10.85mm long uncompressed, its strange even with 4 threads outside the back of the nut I can push the spur in towards the motor mounting plate and create a gap between the disc and pad.

ride height - 62mm shock
full extended - 67mm shock
result - 5mm droop
(don't pay attention to my shock lengths.. I haven't built my car yet so I just made up the numbers as an example)

Chassis Mod
Here is the mod I did to the front and rear of my chassis to make it stronger since I seen some people posting pics of the chassis cracking.
The front you have to hone out the holes just a hair and then it snugs up. rear is direct bolt on.
Easy since you'll already have the alum Chassis.
This also makes it A LOT stiffer just FYI.
