I too have big bores on my hyper along with some other mods, although yours looks alot nicer:lol:. I used 8ight shocks. Love the results, it handles great!

Like I said, the fronts will work if you counter bore them deeper.
I didn't have time to work on the adaptors tonight but I will soon. All that needs to be done is to deepen the slot for the pin.

Thanks for the compliments, I work hard on my cars and run them really hard.
This body will be on it's way to trashed in a few weeks lol.

I think I need some slightly softer springs, it's a little to springy. My buddy gave me another set of the white springs for the front to try. What dia. Are the 8e shocks? As my truck sits the springs offer very little sagg backed all the way off. They seem ok for a 3s but it's almost 100g heavyer than my 2s's

They are 8ight fronts. Soft red springs, works great.

Well, I ran the truck a bunch this weekend Fri & Sat on a mmp 5700 on a Hyperion vx 3s 5000 35c and I have to say nothing at the track was faster or quicker! It was insane the raw power this thing is putting down!

The D8 shocks worked pretty good even with the stock springs, probebly because the battery weighs 400 grahms! Lol! The truck still jumped really well with the bigger batt. I'm going to roll with grey springs all around or 76mm softer springs.

I got to meet 57 over at the track, he had his ofna there and it was rippen also! Love the Eddie VanHalen gutar paint job, it looks sick! Did you wind up racing sat? Let me know when you come back down, I'll meet you there when I have more time!

AKA Adapters

I bought two sets of the AKA adapters (rear for 2wd Slash). Each set comes with four thin shims and one thick shim. On the Ofna, I used three shims (each wheel) in the rear. And one thick shim (filed down with a metal file) in the fronts. You need to have the right thickness (of the shims) so that it is not too tight, or so that there is not excessive play (axle side-to-side)... what was referred to as "a gap" in earlier posts in this thread. This set-up seems to work fine. But you might want to wait for AKA to come up with a set that is designed specifically for the Ofna. Good luck.

Any idea what temps you are getting while running the 6900 on 2s?

It got pretty hot even with a 9 tooth. Good for around 10min with a fan!

57, i loove that paintjob, its been my theme for a year now. Just glad to see another one like it. :D

bushyar15 03-11-2010 04:47 AM

I think if Ecko sponsored a truck the paint job would be more ornate than that. Sorry to say, I was disappointed to see a plain paint job when I opened this thread....

Jstall7543 01-25-2011 12:07 AM

Still going strong after all this time, love this little truck! Thread revival!

Jstall7543 01-25-2011 12:52 AM

So these days I'm back to the stock shocks, 3800kv 4pole castle motor on 2s and plastic spur & mmp esc. Just picked up the ofna 7071 chassis, 40g lighter and stronger, no roll bar or side guards 90g. I couldn't be happier with the truck now! It smashes out even on 2s! Great little trucks to a point! Could be tuffer but then it wouldn't be so fast/quick!
