Another nice weekend of racing with the B-Max4! Although the car was great in Langenfeld, my son wasn't on pace in the 17.5 turn fun/hobby/rookie class in a field of (local) superior racers, many of which were not much slower than quite a few modified drivers and even faster than some of the 13.5 turn guys.
At first, my son was a bit disappointed, but Jörn Neumann saved the day! Stunning to watch on the track and even more stunning in his patience with a nine-year old fan (his biggest ever...), he answered manymanymany questions and signed a damaged wing, flat bill cap and the B-Max4II body. Needless to say, my son will have to race with my body now, as his one is far to valuable now...

A very nice video can be found here.

How have you guys been shimming your diffs, front and rear?

I have had a few failures, mostly the pinion gear going first.

You need various sizes of 12mm and 5mm shims

8 + 12 mm that is. 8mm on the pinion side and 12mm on the outdrives.

When using new gears, shimming should be rather tight, it will settle in. I've not experienced a single failure with any of our two cars yet.

Hey there all, building up my Bmax 4 and loving how its going together, just can't go past the quality of Yokomo, I'm wondering what rear hexes I need to put on it to run AE B44.2 rims.
Cheers

That's right! Earlier this week, I completed an SC10 Factory Team for my son, and although it was much better than my first series SC10, I couldn't really enjoy building the AE truck. Now I've got a big problem, as I wanted to rejoin the short course crowd in our regional series... Yokomo, bring out a B-MAX2SC, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!

If I've got to drive short course (as almost all my club mates do), I want to do it with style!

...and of course it is rubbish, it would be called the SC-Max2 MR
