What exactly are you looking to do? why are you looking to change?
On the track I spend most of my time, I've settled on either 19 on pinion or 20 BUT I am running an 83 spur. With some modification, I would like to try a 16 with that 83 and shoot corner to corner but that's for later testing.
Simply moving up on the pinion from stock will get you more top end but even in stock trim, most tracks don't have the space (around here) to top out the truck. I find I am better being slower on the top end, just get there faster, why I've settled with what I am running 20/83

Just to give you an idea: I run 22-86 in my VXL Pede but I am 3s 5250 LiPo powered and it pulls 45mph wheelies

Yes! I ran the stock 7.2V 3000mah nimh battery that came with my truck for a while, and then I upgraded to lipo. It gave a really nice performance boost.
I race mine in our local club's stock class, so every extra bit of performance does help.

i prefer stock because it offers more acceleration and i like that on a track and it also offers a decent speed

so many opions, i think ill just try the 22 tooth, also dose any one know how to change the tooth, i was up last night and couldent get the 18 tooth pinon off

it is just a little tiny black machined screw that goes threw the pinion. Take that off and slide the pinion gear off the motors rotor.
