Default winter wonder land...HELP!

Well I can probably say tonight was one of the most fun times I have had with my HPI NMT. the east coast snow storm got us out of school early and I had plenty of time to fire it up and bash around in the roughly 2" deep snow in my driveway (shoveled twice before and then snowed on again)

TO THE POINT: My first run lasted the whole tank, I didn't realize I was low on fuel so it ran dry. I had heated the block before hand to reduce the stress on the engine. Right after it shut down I packed a few things up and headed inside to allow a slow cool down. After I ate dinner I reheat the block with a hairdryier and headed back out. Fired it up with a fresh tank and about 2/3 through the tank it vapor lock (yes vapor lock at 25 ºF) so it shut off and I worked on it in my garage. went to refire it and the meter on my ignitor showed nothing. I basicly made the ugliest wire ever seen! BUT HOW??? was it the rapid cool down or extreme temps? (O.S. #8 plug) I attempted to finish off the rest of hte tank and blew ANOTHER PLUG! So I quit for the night.

what kind of plug should I be using in temps from 20-35 ºF ??? is the O.S. #8 ok??
I am running a .15FE how many turns out would you think I might need?

when the plugs blew it was probably about 15-25ºF and I was 3.5 turns out, which is the exact same as what I was using earlier.

SORRY ITS LONG, i just have alot on my mind.

thanks in advance for those who ar kind enough to share their thoughts.
