I personally don't even waste any of my time with anything else for my arm pins on my racers, just get the closest size and cut down to fit. These drill rods are harder than anything else that the hobby sells. I have never bent a pin since going this route but bent all the rest.

Default body fit issues

i just picked up a 1.0 buggy. I threw my MMM from my 8ight-T and cannot seem to get the buggy lid to fit. I'm finding my Lipos are too tall and the wiring is just in the way.
Is there a better fitting lid for running 5s? Even both my Roar 2s hard case packs are too tall..

I'm not joking. HobbyWing really does make the Orions, they build them according to Orion specifications.

On the Drake setup sheet it says silver front springs, is that the stock springs?

Anyone running anything different?

Yea. Both. I mean there are some deltas between the ESCs for sure (and SP and Orion give requirements to HW to build to); IE look at the SP GT2.0 Pro and the HW v2.1 ESCs. Biggest difference is that SP has a port on the ESC that you can USB into, the HW 2.1 you connect at the receiver.

But, yea, HW manufactures them. The quality is there, it just seems that some people turn their nose up at HW but worship Orion. That isn't to discount Orion by any means ... just that not enough credit is given to the HW brands. Maybe some need to spend a ton of money to feel secure.

ANYWAY - there's threads dedicated to those ESCs - sorry for the tangent. Back to Losi 8ight-E!

I usually run the front silver. Some tracks I have tried and liked the AE RC8 blue front spring. It's just a bit firmer. 4.65 rate and the Silver TLR is 4.4. I assume those ratings are fairly consistent across manufacturers.

At least my highly calibrated fingers indicate that it's only a bit more firm.

Why AE? They just came with my car. I suspect that TLR green (4.75) would be very similar.

anyone here know if 8ight -t 1.0 shocks are the same length as 8ight 2.0 shocks? or by chance the lengths of both 8ight-t and 8ight

trying to build a monster buggy/1/10thish monster truck by 1.0 arms, axles, towers and turbbuckles on my buggy making it same width as a new emaxx and about same length just far more durable. I just need to know if my 2.0 buggy shocks are long enough or if I need to put my 2.0 rears in the front get truggy shocks for the rear

If your running buggy arms. 2.0 Truggy rear shocks will be WAY too long to get them mounted.

The thing I'm piecing together will have 1.0 truggy arms, axles and turnbuckles. I remember vaguely something about 1.0 truggy shocks being same as buggy

Ah yes, Didn't see that. 1.0T shocks are identical to the Buggy's, The Rear arms have that little Riser to make up a little of the Shock length.

I've had good luck with Robinsion hard pinions, wondering if anyone has compared the Castle Hard pinions to them or not?
