Has anyone tried to use Kyosho springs on the Losi 8ight?

I know people who run the blues on the rear of truggy. I hear good things about the Kyosho springs. They are very proud of them as they are a little bit of $krilla and the paint chips easily making them ugly. I want to try them with the blue CSI pistons sometime this summer.

Default Losi set-up

Sorry Fella’s a bit of the topic

I am having problems with my set-up and your help would be really appreciated. My eldest boy has been running 1/10 scale’s for about four years now and I thought it would be cool to run him in the same scale as his Dad. I run a 1/8 scale hotbodies Ve8.

I have brought him a second hand (but had never been run) 1/8 Losi 8ight pro kit with the Xcelorin brushless motor and ESC for the right price on EBay. To try and save money in the transition, I have opted to use his 7.4v two cell Turnigy lipos doubled up, as they are new and not worth trying to sell off.

Only problem is they are real heavy, like 230grams heavier than my four cell Turnigy lipos and bring the Losi in at nearly 4kg (race trim) . I am using Adam Drake's STD set-up for a starting point, only variation to this is Ve8 grey springs to the front, as the Losi green’s couldn’t handle the extra weight.

The Losi is running all over the place, heaps of over-steer and the back end is all over the place, especially on throttle off. On tight corners it will turn and then flip without warning and on heavy breaking the dam thing spins out. We are running on an outdoor track with long strait’s, couple of tight corners and a few small jumps. The surface is loose on top with some hard spots and fairly deep ruts in parts.

I am trying to find a neutral set-up for a heavy Losi, this thing should be kicking arse and even I can’t get it to drive around the track without flipping or losing it I unfortunately lack the experience to nut this one out.

Thankyou in advance for all your help.
NOTE: Running Adam Drake’s 2010 set-up from TeamLosi web page.

I'm going to convert one of my 2.0 buggies, most likely going with a Tekin Rx8/T8 setup. What I have a bunch of 4s already so I was looking at either the 2650, 2050, or 1900 motors.

What would be the major difference of going with say a 1700 with 5s vs 2650 on 4s???

I ran a real heavy car a couple of times for the same reason until I got more lipos.
I think my setup was white (Losi) springs in the rear and black (Losi) springs in the front with Losi 35wt for the rear and Losi 50wt for the front. 56 pistons rear/54 pistons front. 2.5mm swaybar front/2.7mm swaybar rear.
Honestly though I got the car to handle better then initial first run but get a lighter pack asap is my best suggestion and is what I ended up doing too.
Good Luck!

If you plan to race I would run the 1900 on a 4S.

It will not be a race vehicle, but I may take it too the somewhat local track once in a while to rip around. Is the higher kv more of a basher thing for speed and less run time?

Default Need some opinions on diff-shock oil weights & pinion gear

Here is my current set up:

TRUGGY : Losi Electric Truggy 2.0-Techno Conversion V4
STEERING SERVO : JR9100t
MOTOR : Tekin T8 1350kv Truggy can
BATTERY: 6S, 5000mah, EC5 plugs
ESC : Speed Passion Silver Arrow V3
RADIO : Spectrum DX3 Pro
PINION : ???? tooth mod1
SPUR : 50 tooth
WHEELS : AKA
DIFFS F/C/R : 7k / 10k / 2-5k---What other weight setups other than this norm?
SHOCKS F/R : ??F / ??R
DROOP F/R : stock
RIDE HEIGHT : 39 front / 41 rear
CAMBER F/R : -1 front / -2 rear
TRACKS: L to XL, high groove, clay, wet to dry

I am looking to find the ideal 6s, 1350Kv set up. Most of the the diff and shock setups that I have found are 4s setups. 6s is more powerful and the battery weighs more. I am an experienced racer and know my stuff, I am just looking to see others have found something better
