Team Associated B44. Race, Tune and Modify
Hi All, now that the B44 is out and everyone's got one (or still waiting to get one) hows it performing for all?
I know a B44 thread exists already, but I feel that was a thread created PRIOR to the release.I'm hoping this thread will focus more on the "Post Marketing" running, racing and review side of things. To kick it off, here are some starting questions.. What are some of the QC issues you have found? What can be improved? Care to share some home-grown modifications that are performance enhancing? Whos still running brushed setups and what kind of gearing? cheers! |

Anybody knows the ETA for the new B44 parts? So far the carbon battery straps have been released, but we are still waiting to see the alu centre bulkhead, front castors, and tower mounts. oh, and the new revised front arms.. Anything else? |

I think the one area that needs modification is the front hinge-pins. The hinge pins are not captured at the back on the chassis. They simply rest against the edge of the CF.
After just a few weeks, the pins have "dented" the CF enough that the whole pin moves rearward enough so that another hit causes the bulkhead to break. I would suggest what was suggested to me. I simply put a 3mm set screw in the back of the arm, shortened the hinge-pin by the length of the set-screw. Hopefully, no more problems there.... Someone mentioned the BJ4 was the same way. Really wierd.... |
Yup have done that front arms mod myself. A no brainer really.. and its been working great. No more chipped chassis.

anyone installed a NTC3 oneway with their B44?
How does it feel? |
im using the tc3 nitro one way and rear sway bar,its really hooked up,it drive a lot easier, got good sterring,u can come in and out the turns faster, well thats just my 2 cents, also if you buy get the tc3 nitro is the one to get so you dont have to outdrive i think the one way that on the tce elec. the outdrive is a little short;)

what sort of track conditions were you running?
I have always believed in running a one-way racing in STOCK.... but somehow, with the B44 twin diff setup, I can turn in and out of corners as quick and perhaps even with more stability. (if that makes sense?) whats the sway bars doing for you thats different to running it kit standard? is there much difference?

agreed Arn0.
but you gotta admit, in stock form, there's not much setup changes one can adjust with the B44. Must be Associated's testament to the Jconcepts design. Its driving that well, you dont need to change that much :)
