nice. i think we got 4 or 5 here. Only seen 2 runnign though. me + one other. But I do know of 4 others that will be coming out to play soon!

what sort of conditions in Townsville :)

you guys running brushed or brushless. anyone running 27T stock with them?

ridgewaybodies 01-26-2008 05:07 PM

I ran a 12x2 geared at 21/84 when I ran brushed. I doubt you'll see many people running stock in a 4WD because of the extra drive train. Stick with mod, way more fun! :)

over here in Australia the stock classes ares till quite big for all classes - truck, 2wd, 4wd.

I like racing stock because the field is a lot more even and racing is a lot tighter. One mistake and your a GONER! :)

no doubt sooner or later Ill be moving on up to mod soon, just.. not yet.

sometimes going slower can be faster :D

actually,

The other night i ran an 18/84 and the CO27 was hot! (but not stinky).

Mind you, that was hooked up with a QC3 at "stock" settings.. with a day of 35 degree celcius heat, high humidity.

The batts were quite hot after a 5min race too. hrmmm could be the QC3 pushing all electroncs to the limits.

Never mind. the car felt dialed with most places... Just wish I can get my hands on some B44 rear sway bars to see if i can get rid of the traction roll!

still running box stock kit setup.

WE are running mod on a smallish track. So there is a mixture of brushless and brushed, but nothing above a 19 turn I dont thing. I'm runnning 5.5 but might have to bolt a 4.5 in. Track is hard packed in places and soft clay in others, all topped off with a fine dusty sort of dirt. Awesome when its dampened down before racing.

The holeshots work well on the track, but I've been trying insidejobs on the front and bowties on the arse. Need to spend more time at the track and work out some setup. Maybe tomorrow.

Same gear ratio I was running with the 5.5. Batteries came off at 115 deg C after one heat. Melted the shrink on one cell. I'm thinking it may have been a bad cell as nothing got that hot for the rest of the day.

Sparksy, sounds very close to one of the club surface we are running over here. Our track "dusts up" very easily as the top surface soil is quite weak and breaks up easily.. especially if we get some bigger MTs on the track.

Most guys are running bowties and seem to be working, I have been running mainly holeshots and inside jobs (f+r). The inside jobs dont wear as much.. but i did find that running bowties at the rear with holeshots infront seems to settle the car. Of course it only applies to this particular track (WestCoast Model Rally Club)

what are guys running with 19T brushed?

wish AE would provide more "race notes" with the B44 manual. You can really see TT's influence when say comparing to the old skool B4 manuals. ;)

To help with your traction roll, mod a B4 sway bar kit and run the silver bar, silver springs, 35R/30R AE oil.

Here is my modded B4/T4 sway bar. Supposedly the TC5 bar fits perfect between the screws. I used 1/8 throttle linkage stoppers to keep the bar tight.

oh, can someone confirm that the B44's internal ration is a 2.5 ?

Shadows 01-26-2008 05:37 PM

thanks mate!

damnit! i should not have sold my B4 sway bar kit...like a year ago! rofl.

bugger if i can find a set now.

silver springs f + r? and is that suppose to be 35 F and 30 rear oil?

what would you recommend as a compromise with oils and springs should I not be able to find a set of sway bars?

Try the silver kit springs up front and silver (ASC6478) springs on the rear. Yes on the oils, F=front, R=rear.

Hey! Great feedback everyone, thanks a bunch.

On the front arm hinge pins do you put the set screw in the hinge pin hole or do you make another beside it, like the b4?

Has anyone driven on a "blue grove" out door track?

Not sure mate. I'm not even sure that anyone is running a 19t. What I ment was that we are all running brushless or lower turn brushed. Going by everyones speed down the straight a 19T would be the most number of winds anyone has.

In the hole. Works a treat.
