I'd like to "seal" edges on carbon fiber parts.Do I have to do all of them-chassis,shok tower, upper decks,LiPo battery holder?Which glue I have to use?
Thanks.

I sealed all the edges using ultra thin CA glue. Just pay special attention to areas that mate up to the edge of other parts i.e. top deck where it meets the center bulkhead, and the front and rear edges of the chassis where they mate up with the front and rear suspension plates. Any excess glue buildup can cause the parts to not line up properly. If this happens, lightly sand the excess CA off with 400 grit sandpaper.

I use a dremel to get the square edges off then 200 Grit them to round them off. Then use a black sharpee. Put thin CA on a Q-tip and apply in small amounts. I usually do 3 coats.

I've seen a similar technique used, makes the edges of the chassis GLEAM!! I could see my reflection.

I found that be careful with too much "pack" in off-road. There's a gray line when the shocks stop becoming a "shock absorber" and start to become just a semi-hard rod with a spring wrapped around it.

You gotta remember it from the shock's perspective during an initial landing, the piston is trying to flow through the oil instantaneously, and the thicker the oil, the more resistance there is. I'm not talking about the steady state condition, where you're rolling over bumps and such at half throttle or something, I'm talking about the instantaneous condition when the buggy smacks the dirt/pavement/carpet/whatever during a landing...

I've broken suspension parts on other vehicles by packing my shocks with too thick of an oil. I've been backing off on the shock weight oil lately (with the same pistons), you can also use shock pistons with the larger holes, which is the same effect as using thinner oil... I imagine this kinda stress is present on my B44, although I've never broken suspension components on that vehicle in particular, but it's probably because the B44 is able to take more abuse. But continued abuse = eventual failure of part.

I used to run 55wt front, 45wt rear, #2 piston front and rear in my B44. I've backed it off to 45wt front, and 35wt rear. This should also calm it down slightly over the bumps and rythm sections at my local track.

Eventually, I may go back to the kit setting, 35wt front and 25wt rear was it?

Duh !!! why would you use such heavy oil in the first place. Anyway, you sure give out alot of advices for a novice driver.

Dont rip on the guy. I used to run heavy weight oil as well, because I started with trucks and was mostly bashing, where the heavier oil worked better.

After a while I bought a buggy, switched to lipos, and run a lighter set up on a track where lighter oil is better for rough areas.

Not that big of a deal.

At least he's trying to help and sharing his experience. Your post was just useless bashing.
