I don't know! I just checked the weather forecast for the rest of the week and it shows rain every day.

I wonder how the IFMAR officials will figure this one out. ????

Current conditions as of 6:00 am JST according to Yahoo weather. It's raining in Tokyo and the track is between Tokyo and Kamatsu so I would guess it's raining at the track. It also looks like it is going to rain the rest of the week.

It rained "all" night, ranged from pouring to light rain, and it's still raining with no clear sky's in sight. I checked about a dozen wether sights for the mountain last night. Some said cloudy but no rain, other said chance of rain. Looks like it was a good chance........

Off to breakfast!

Yeah, good luck to everyone... bumps and ruts are one thing but puddles and mud make things very challenging.

It'll be interesting to see driver's set up sheets after this event to see what they do in such drastic conditions to get the cars to handle as well as possible.

Maybe Truck tires will be allowed
It is very bad for a big event like the Worlds this happens, a huge tent (used by circus etc.) to cover the track and rostrum will have been a good solution. Hopefully no rain the next days so the best man can win !!

Rain sucks but IFMAR couldn't have known it was going to rain like this. Yatabe is not the only great track in Japan. This same thing could happen to any track anywhere in the world that's outdoors. It's supposed to be the dry season right now in Japan so scheduling was right on. Still warm and supposed to be dry. Just a lot of bad luck. I know the Japanese take great pride in running great races that follow the rules to a T.

The logo looks like they planned for the rain.
