Yest. was my first time running the GV2. Ran mod with a 13.5 on indoor clay. I was at a disadvantage as the track was a slick track and all I had were new gold Barcodes. Wound up in the B-main. Car had kit setup with 35f/30r wt. 3800 lipo and .5 oz on reciever side. It felt really good, but I felt the tires were holding me back. I'll be prepared next time.
Can't for outdoor this next weekend.

Hey folks! Hope everyone had a good mothers day!

Ive got a few things on the burner.

First one is playing around with vaccum forming stuff. Im going to toss up a couple of ideas for an aftermarket body and see what people think. Im not sure if I will be able to do it, but it should be fun to try!

I did some work on the slipper clutch. I basicly redrilled the hole for the back plate and moved it alot closer in to the motor plate. Ill post pics soon. I dont know if its any performance advantage or not, but it sure looks alot cooler

And last, for all those going to the nats (sponsored driver or not) can you please pm me. Im working on some stuff for this race for us.

Drilling the slipper back might actually make the slipper shaft overall a littler stronger since the leverage from the pinion smashed the spur on a back end hit would be less. If nothing else it surely didn't hurt to do that.

we had apretty strong showing of academy buggies for the first round of the MORL series today despite the rain.there were 4 of us in the A stock buggy main. and 1 in the B stock buggy main. Mains were ran at night on a pretty rough soil track so it was very hard to hold a line and not trade some paint. All 4 of the academy guys wre bounced around in the running in the main .I think all of us held 2nd for a bit!!Everyone was TRYING to run clean, but the rough black soil under the lights made it near impossible to see the ruts and divits so you would try to pass and sure enough one of you would hit a chuck hole and bounce out toward the other guys. You almost needed at least a 4 foot window to guarantee a clean pass.Despite the conditions the competition was super tight and made for a super fun day of stock buggy racing!

Props to Josh Wade and dave perez for making a good show for the team on a minefeild of a track that some of us have been running for 20yrs.!!

Yest. was a long day.
Chad is right. Lol. The main was all about trading paint. Maybe some of it had to do with the track lighting, but some of those guys need to learn patience.

My car was the best in the main that it was all day. Still running kit setup with 35f/30r oil. Car was well balanced on the rough/rutted track. Looking forward to next outdoor event.
Overall a good showing for Academy cars in buggy and truck.

LOL.I think we both have mixed feelings for a certain driver that just expects everybody to part like the red sea if your within 20ft. of his car!!! He's a nice guy to talk to , but I hate running with him.

hi guys,
i've just got a used gv2 and stripped it down for maintenance, and noticed that the inner slipper plate has some wear grooves on it. is it advisable to carry on using it or should i change out to a new piece? btw, which other online shops besides A-Main & Stormer, excluding MRC, carries parts for the gv2? thanks.

I'd go ahead and replace them. Parts aren't that expensive. Not sure about any other online resources. Do you have a lhs you can try?

thanks for the advice. but i'm located in the other side of the world and probably i'm the lonely one having the gv2 here. dont talk about academy in our lhs, even losi or ae also have spare part problems. i'm trying to find a source whereby i can get the slipper plates, pads and ball diff gear together. stormer has the plates but not pads n diff gear while a-main doesnt ship to my place here, u got the idea....
