going to hawaii

Chris--I should be able to help you out with your racing and shops to hit here in Southern California. I happen to be one of the guys who runs races at Pegasus Hobbies. The thread for our race program can be found here:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthre...shot+batteries
As far as other off road tracks, there is SoCal Raceway in Huntington Beach and Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus as one of the other posts had said. However SoCal is going to be closed down in about 2 months so you'll have to hurry to hit that place. From LAX Hot Rod would be North (very close to Magic Mountain Amusement Park--do you like roller coasters, becasue they have like 10 of them) and SoCal would be South of LAX on the coast. Pegasus is inland in a city called Montclair. These are your best bets for off-road electric. Many of the top drivers in the country/world race at these tracks. There are also several gas tracks in the area, but I think your looking for electric from reading your posts. If you have ANY questions, please feel free to PM me as I can point you in the direction you want to go on your visit....
As far as shops to hit, the best shop in the region would be Ultimate Hobbies in the city of Orange. I wish all shops could be like this one..... Anything and everything you could possibly want that is related to RC is available at this shop at some of the best prices nationally. Pegasus also has a very nice shop, but not quite on par with Ultimate (I'm being honest here, even though I run the race program at Pegasus).
Hope this answers your questions.... Like I said, PM me if you have any other questions, we'd love to have you check out our program at The Stadium (that's what we call the track at Pegasus).....

There was definately a track when you visited Pegasus last year. The rpogram was not running the way it is now, but it was definately there.... Depending on when you will be here (seems to me you said September or October) there may be a "big race" at Hot Rod Hobbies. In October they hold the Reedy Truck Race of Champions. Perhaps you can hit that while your here or atleast go to watch. Like I said, PM me if you have ANY questions about what's going on here, I can point you in the right direction....

Did you by chance notice that the post that you responded to was almost two months old? Did you also by chance notice that his post was asking about nitro on-road racing in the electric off-road forum and that he asked the question almost 2 YEARS after the last post. I think he should have just started a new thread IN THE RIGHT SECTION.

i also noticed his last activity was less than a month from when i posted
he probably did a search for hawaii and it listed the thread "going to hawaii" as one of them
there isn't much racing here and its slowly dying
so, should i try and help them out? WHY NOT?
